so my sis(13) and I(16) were taking a walk and we were about a mile away from the house when my sis started walking really funny like she had a stick shuved up her butt. so I ask her why are you walking like that and she says she has to go to the bathroom so we turn around and start heading back, she's like I gotta poop, and I'm wondering why she didn't say something before so she keeps wadeling along untill we are about a block from our house then I notice some mud on her shoe, I figured I would tell her about it before she went in the house so she didn't get in trouble then I see a hudge glop of 'mud' fall from her pants, and she started making a funny face and I started gaging and laughing and apologizing for laughing, I really tried to stop but I couldn't I kept thinking about what I would want her to do it she was in my shoes and I in hers so I walked kinda close behind her but far enough so I didn't get any on me, then we passed this guy that she really like fortunatly he didn't

you are not terrible at all. sounds like you had real soul-empathy for your poor, distressed sister (13 is a tender, not-easy age to be to begin with) ...since you 'automatically' and immediately felt her pain and did all you could about it...all you'd want her to do for you. that's the golden rule in action!

(it's a shame our society is so uptight and unreal that we even HAVE such embarrassment over simple, neccessary bodily functions, but that's not the point here.)

however, the true test of your character is yet to come.

sometime in the future, i daresay you are going to be angry with your sister for something...maybe really angry...maybe with plenty of 'righteous cause' to be angry...and you may want 'revenge' on her.

it's what you do when you are boiling mad at her someday that will expose your true caliber. i hope you make a permanent and binding promise to yourself right now, that no matter what may come and how provoked you may feel, you will never EVER speak of this incident to anyone without her full and free approval.

and lastly, your strong instinct to protect her from humiliation at the hands of family males (you intuited that they wouldn't understand and could hurt her a lasting hurt even unintentionally) - now THAT showed a true zenith of caring. good on you, wise sisterwister!

You laughed because it embarrassed you. I realize it is hard to deal with when anyone does this type of thing, but it is more normal than people allow to be known. No, you should ahve refrained from laughing. Would you want to be laughed at?? I think not. Tell her you are sorry for laughing and that you just want her to know that you did try to do everything to protect her from others laughing and making fun of her. You did not mention names here and that is great. Life is rough, but you deal with it as it comes. There are times that people lose control over thier body functions even if it is temporary. Everyone does even though they will not admit it very easily. Once you have told her you are sorry, forget the subject and DO NOT BRING IT BACK UP, EVER, unless she does and then only in order to anwser anything she asks..

I think your a good sister. And, who wouldn't laugh? That was funny. It sounds like; a lot of sisters would have done the same..I have two sisters myself. Now married with grown children. In five years or so. You both will laugh.. And as far as telling your dad and mom. You did the rite thing. Good luck and take care. More people could use a good sister like you.

You didn't betray her. You took really good care of her by walking behind her and letting her use your bathroom. People respond to stressful situations differently. I don't think that you were being mean. Afterall, you did apologize to her. And if you were truly mean you wouldn't have felt any remorse for laughing.
No worries.

Hmmmm.. I laughed while reading this story. lol.

I don't think it makes you a BAD PERSON for laughing at your 13 year old sister for pooping on herself. She was walking funny and making funny faces. I mean, you couldn't help it.

Just think, would she have laughed at you for going to the bathroom on yourself, walking funny and making funny faces?

LOL!!! Yeah, that's funny sh*t!!!! No pun intended. haha I knew a guy who got busted playing basketball with us when we were about the same age. He was going for a lay-up, when he went, up, a turd rolled out from his sweats pant leg on to the court. He came down, looked at it, and acted like nothing happened. Well, of course, we were all about to sh*t on ourselves from laughing so hard. After that day, his nickname became "Shitty".

You didn't betray her, you helped her cover it up. Some things are just funny, and that was. She might have felt hurt by the laughing, but big picture is you helped her keep it secret.

You did show a complete lack of sympathy for her situation. Whether you qualify as "terrable"/"terrible" depends on your definition of terrible, but you did show a huge lack of sensitivity as she was trying to make it to the house and restroom. Be more sensitive next time, more concerned about others. God Bless you.
