its a self-governing british colony!!! it is just off the coast of North Carolina.the main island is 14 miles long and 1 mile wide.i actually just came back from there last week. i stayed at the fairmont princess and it was sooo beautiful there!!! the prices are pretty high, though. gas is like $8 there!!! It is British... I should know..we got a parking ticket while we were there and I had to pay 50 bucks to "her royal majesty" (no lie, that is what it said on the ticket)
