Several years ago Yahoo removed the ability for email clients to send and receive mail through their servers. Free account holders are limited to webmail so that Yahoo can display ads in order to generate revenue from the free accounts. Of course Yahoo offers a paid service that will allow you to use an email client. There are also a few programs that will port your webmail to outlook express for you.
