how much does it depend on the time you spend at your college, I mean will I have to study at home for long times? because I simply don't have more that two hours a day to study.
should I forget about a medicine degree?

In general, to do well in ANY field of study at university, you really need to devote more than two hours a day to studying. Medicine is especially intensive. The prerequisite coursework I described to you in my other answer were all very competitive courses, and the subject matter was not easy.

I lost a lot of sleep during the semesters I spent on organic chemistry. My black hair even started to grey a little. I spent so much time studying, I could not spare enough free time to have a job. I am lucky that my parents are so hell bent on me getting to medical school that they gave me money to live on. Not everyone has that luxury.

Medicine is only for people who can handle a lot of hardship and can dedicate themselves to a lot of pain and discomfort in the pursuit of their craft. If you are not 110% willing to devote your time and your life to both studying and practicing medicine, do NOT pursue medical school. PAs make good money and they have saner schedules.

And may I reiterate, if you choose to go pre-med, do NOT go into biology. It's too competitive and your grades will suffer. Choose the humanities (or some other easy major) and do the pre-reqs on the side. I know plenty of people who have gone this route and had success in medical school.

I wouldn't say forget about it but you need to keep in mind it's VERY competitive to get into med school. I have friends that went on to med school but they studied constantly, they didn't work and didn't go out on the weekends. If it was xmas or spring break they were in the school library studying for the MCAT. They pulled off really good grades but still had to go to med school out of state. I know even more people who didn't get in at all, one girl even had to go to med school in the carribean.

But don't let that discourage you. Go ahead and take the prerequisites so that at least you have the option. It sounds like you have a backup plan so I say GO FOR IT!
