poodle never shead are small and easy to train they are protective of their owners and have good hearing. I have four small and I love them. I have them groomed once during the winter time and have them shaved in the summer to keep them cool.

All dogs shed to some degree. Some low shed dogs are poodles, yorkies, bichons, maltese, and shih tzus.
All these dogs are small, and require daily brushing and grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep their coats in good shape.
Don't fall into that designer dog crap. Mixing a low shed dog with a dog who sheds will not always give you a shed free dog, no matter what the breeder claims.
Just a note: generally the shorter the hair, the more shedding

I heard a discussion among some dog behavioralists--specializing in major behavior problems (I have/had a psycho dog!). They were joking that if everyone had poodles, they might go out of business, as they are said to rarely exhibit major behavioral issues. They are easily trained, that's why you see them performing tricks so much in circus type venues, and they come in different sizes. They are recommended for people with allergies who must have a dog and are not known for shedding. I would think that the proper grooming would help w/ that.

I have a Dachshund, a Chihuahua and a Jack Russel...They are all wonderful...personally...the chihuahua is the best tempered dog...but it has taken training to make him that way...the Jack Russel is SUPER smart and lots of fun...but he's a little high strung and co dependent...the Dachshund is a little territorial and will eventually have all the hip dysplasia and front leg issues that come with that breed...ssssooooo

If it was me....I'd get another chihuahua and just make sure that you don't let him/her start up those little behaviors that they are notorious for...(possessiveness, protectiveness, territorial) Nip those in the bud right away and you should be good to go.

if you're willing to shell out the money poodles do not shed...and for some strange reason most people aren't allergic to them.

So they are now breeding all sorts of dogs with poodles to get this trait. (ex . Labradoodles)

try looking around for a Doodle breed they're not cheap if you go to a breeder but you might get lucky checking the pounds.

Toy Poodle or Miniature Poodle. Very smart, very easy to train (except on housebreaking) and don't shed.

I suggest you go to a local shelter or use petfinder.com to find a dog that you may be interested in, then either go and visit the dog in the shelter or foster home and see for yourself if it sheds. My parents have 3 types of doodles in their home and they all shed.

the best dogs are Maltese or Bichon. They do not shed. The only thing is that you do have to have them groom alot because their hair grows fast. otherwise, great small dogs..
