you can show in agility, field trials, obedience, and most activity related sports..They also show in 'get of sire' classes and junior handling..The only show events they won't qualify for is conformation.
the sport of dog showing is SO much more than the beauty contest of 'conformation' ring...It is a great activity to share with the whole family..
Showing a 'fixed' dog is a lot more fun than showing an intact dog, as you don't have to schedule around 'seasons' which mess with a dog's mind, coat and body.

YES - except in conformation, which is to prove dogs are good specimens of their breed for breeding. Go to www.akc.org for information on showing in obedience, agility, flyball, lure coursing, herding trials, etc. There are many ways to compete with spayed & neutered dogs, and the winners are all awarded ribbons & titles, too! If your dog has no AKC registration, you can check into getting an ILP number - this allows you to compete in these non-confirmation types of shows, too. Contact a local training club (on the same website) and they will help you out - Good luck & have fun!
ADD: Kudos to you & your Mom for being responsible, truly caring dog owners & getting your Lab puppy spayed!

Depending on what you intend to show him for, yes and no. Showing of dogs was actually intended to recognize well bred stock. To increase the value of a specific breeds puppies. So with this in mind, all show dogs must still be intact and capable of reproducing more stock.

Which Dogs May Participate
To be eligible to compete, a dog must:
be individually registered with the American Kennel Club
be 6 months of age or older
be a breed for which classes are offered at a show
meet any eligibility requirements in the written standard for its breed
Spayed or neutered dogs are not eligible to compete in conformation classes at a dog show, because the purpose of a dog show is to evaluate breeding stock.
HOWEVER:
AKC has a class called "Canine Good Citizen", http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canine_Good_Citizen,
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, established in 1989, is an American Kennel Club program to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. A dog and handler team must take a short behavioral evaluation of less than half an hour; dogs who pass the evaluation earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate, which many people represent after the dog's name, abbreviating it as CGC; for example, "Fido, CGC".
The evaluation consists of ten objectives. All items must be completed satisfactorily or the team fails. Test items include: (SNIP, please go to the above link to read more.)

The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. (Snip) http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/index.cfm.

Yes and no. You can't show in breed competitions (conformation) but you CAN show in obedience and agility and other performance events. It's a good idea to have him fixed, since he'll be less distracted by the females.

because of the fact the element of exhibiting a canines is that it is the final of the final for that is breed. it extremely is placing the breed uncomplicated. the element of breeding is to get the final of the breed uncomplicated. Taking the final of the final and breed them with the final of the final to get an excellent greater perfect offspring. that's the element of exhibiting canines interior the 1st place so as that's why the coach canines are not fixed, they're used to make greater perfect destiny coach canines. a outstanding breeder could purely be breeding their canines with champion canines. in case you're an AKC breeder you are able to fulfill particular standards to reproduce your canines. yet they do surely have shows for altered canines as properly, many in actuality.
