You shouldn't use a concentration of more than 3%. If you don't have 3% then you can use half water, half peroxide. Also, using baking soda (with or without the peroxide) works great for whitening teeth.

A low volume peroxide "3%" is perfectly safe to use in your mouth, but whether it is effective to whiten teeth enough I;'m not sure. It's worth a try.

If you actually read the label, that's actually one of its uses. As long as you don't swallow, of course. My friend uses it as a mouthwash and I don't know anyone else with whiter teeth. It really does work.

3% is okay to use. Just dont use it too often, it can damage your gums.
