I like either Loreal or Clairol.
Do not get the hydrience though. I have heard many people say it dries your hair like crazy. Which is ironic considering it's name.

It doesn't matter what brand you get, it will ALL damage your hair! Especially since you're looking to dye your hair blue-black--if you have blonde hair, you have to put a base or it will turn green and if you have previously dyed your hair within the last 6 months or so, you have to buy a neutralizer otherwise your just doubling color over color and that'll fry your hair...luckily you're not bleaching it because that will REALLY kill your hair. I suggest getting it done professionally... that will give the least damage, at home coloring is terrible on your hair, plus the stylist will give you great tips on how to take care of your hair and keep the color lasting longer, more vibrant, and repairing damage.

I think if you are looking for a blue/black try a level 2 dye first (now i know the bottle says rinses out in 28 shampoos, but it lies lol) Try Natural Instincts by Clariol, Color: Midnight.

You dont want to get a permenant Black dye b/c they are mostly Metallic dyes (they dont come out until they are cut out.)

Either Garnier or Herbal Essences. Herbal Essences is definatly my favorite. I dye my hair every other month and it never fades away too quickly. It makes your hair shiny and silky too. The conditioner they give you smells really good too, as all herbal essences products do. It doesnt damage your hair at all, or at least you cant tell.

my opinion, you are wasting your money. the colors don't last and you risk a chance on messing your up really bad. go to the salon.
