NO READING
Avoid any activity that will focus your eyes on something steady in the car while your side vision will be catching the moving scenery. That one is a major cause of car sickness. Your brain basically gets confused: are we movig? are we not moving? So whatever you do - don't read on knit in the car.
Try to do most of the driving - when you're in control, you don't get car sick as much or at all.
Fresh air into the window usually helps.
Dramomine.

I find that when I am in control of my own motion that my motion sickness is less severe. I usually try to do the majority of driving. Also, if you are travelling with a group of people, try to make sure that you are seated next to a window. I don't know why, but it helps. Things to lessen sickness: try not to read (books, maps) while the car is in motion, chew on mints or drink ginger ale. Good luck and have a safe trip.

I've heard of people trying Dramamine. Maybe if you kept the windows open so fresh air could circulate? I would think of something else if you start feeling sick.

Search for static strips, they attatch to your car and eliminate morning sickness. I have talked to parents of motion sick kids who swear by these things.
