It only ever happens with potato, and i know some other people who experience that too, it's weird. The pain only lasts like 10 seconds...is it because it's rather stodgy and gets stuck somewhere...thanks!

your not drinking enough fluids when you eat potatos and your probably not chewing and eating huge bites. Slow down.

I'm not a doctor or anything- but you might be allergic to potatoes. Try to avoid anything that's like that. (ex: hash browns, tator tots, or fries.) If this pain has been happening for a long time, (whenever you eat potato products), I would go see a doctor.

Could it be heartburn? Some people get heartburn with different things. The potassium in the potatoe could be triggering your stomach acids to release.

try smaller bites.
LOL Sorry just kidding. When I eat raw potatoes my throat itches but Ive never heard of that.

you might be allergic to potato. my cousin is. do an allergy test.

it might have been a heartburnt if the duration of the pain was longer .. still consult a physician.

If it's directly after eating it, it could be a chemical reaction.

If it's after it could be gas.

Chew your food! I had that problem myself when I was younger just remember chew really well before you swallow. :)
