I like the "Bible on the chair" idea, that's a neat reminder...

I was in your predicament with 2 kids and both of us adults working. Then I got this advise from another bother who said, you won't FIND time, you must MAKE time. How do I make time? If I am visiting the Doctor's office, I have a devotional book or the Bible with me. Same goes for standing in line. I quit watching TV, quit everything that takes my time for MYSELF and then I found lots of time.

I am not trying to show how "good" I am, only saying that it can be done if you make similar sacrifices. I will also say this only to help you, I chose to forgo a better paying job because it would have left me with no time....its sacrifices like this that will give you time. Just to remind you ...Mt 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." No sacrifice for HIM will go to waste, for I believe in the Kingdom and in Heaven, there will be recompense.

I spent three hours in the bible last night before I went to bed.

You can do it whenever you have a moment. It's all God's time anyway, so why not give him back some of your spare moments? Even if that's just silently praying while you wait in line for coffee in the morning, or while you're riding in a crowded elevator? Converse through prayer with God over lunch. If you can bring along a pocket bible and actually pray through the scriptures. There's always time for God. The more you make, the more you have, and the happier you will be in all areas of you life. It also tends to make things seem less chaotic. For me anyway.

Good luck and God Bless!

I like reading my Bible in the after-noon but will read it any time i find time ,buy a small Bible and keep it on you where ever you go when your in a traffic jam or waiting for water to boil( if you cook) read a verse or two.

As for praying
prayer is just talking to God you can do that any time any where you can pray out loud or in your mind (God hears what you think too) you can pray when your washing the dishes or hanging up clothes just talk to God like you would a best friend
When you get up in the morning Say thank you God for this morning, at night thank you God for this day and being with me.

Hope this helps God Bless you

For one thing, I pray before each meal.

Plus, I spend at least fifteen minutes of my lunch hour reading the Bible.

I pray the Rosary every day. I pray the first decade early in the morning, the second one later in the morning, the third one in midafternoon, the fourth after dinner sometime, and the fifth just before I go to sleep.

And I say some short prayers here and there during the day as well.

I am prayful every moment of the day by being calm, thoughtful about God at any situation, and being good to other people. The Bible says to be in constant prayer. So looking around your world and being constantly aware of existance and thankful to God for the things you see, hear,or touch in life means that.If you see an awesome butterfly or two people with love for eachother you might aim your thoughts towards the Creator of these things and silently say thank you in your own way and for as long as you want. Or if you see tragedy or loneliness you might suddenly start praying for help by reflecting on the fact that you are constantly in His company and point your pain towards His assistance.
There is praying with words then there is praying within your soul.God constantly feels exactly what you feel inside. He hears all your thoughts and is forgiving of the not so good of ones.Just aim your thoughts at His presence throughout the day, remember He's the Creator and then you pray with your heart.
As for reading the bible, when He directs you to stop and read something which you might feel something of a strong urge to stop what your doing and read, don't ignore this feeling. But don't let others make you feel like it's a chore. And remember....once the Word is written in your heart, you think about it's main reason for being written with your mind constantly.Love.'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and all your mind, and all your strength....'
He's sitting directly beside you right now.
Always.

I think if everyone waited to pray to God or read from His word whenever they "had the time", then none of us would ever do these two things. I think we MUST set aside a time to pray and to study, as they are very important factors in our lives. God is fighting for our time just like all the other people in our lives. He is the most important of these people, so He should get the attention first.

I personally prefer reading in the mornings when my head is clear and the day hasn't had its chance to fog my brain.

Remember it is food for your soul. Whatever you read in the morning you will most likely use during the day in time of stress or problems. It keeps Gods words on the tip of your tongue. I sometimes only get to really read in quiet a few times a week, but the words I have read come back to me quicker than if I didn't study often.

i like doing devotions during my lunch hour. Pray in the morning. And read at night. One thing that helped, is that i used to put a chair in my room with a Bible on it (and it reminds me that Jesus is waiting for me to meet Him daily)...

Hope that helps =),

If you have a 'daytimer' set aside an appointment.
This is TMI, but I often talk to God in the shower and during the drive to and from work.
