I'm really interested in learning Flash, but I'm not quite ready for the $700 Flash 8 Super Mega Edition. I've been looking at Flash 5 or perhaps Flash Mx, but I want something cheap and effective for a beginner. What should I get and where would be a good place to get it? I can get a tutorial book somewhere if things are too complicated at first, so I'm not worried about that. But I'm looking for something possibly around $150 or less. Are there pro's and con's to those two programs? Especially considering their prices?

Well to be honest I felt the exact same way when I had to take my flash class in college, I actually just downloaded a cracked version from the Internet, although I'm not telling you do the same (legally). Anyway I believe they still offer a free 30 day trial if you go to adobe.com and download the trail version of flash. If you are a college student, you may want to consider if you would be able to get a discount though your school, I know a lot of colleges are willing to give students a cheaper price on software that they teach. If all else fails, try eBay.com.
