I agree. I wonder the same. If he didnt betray him, then the prophecy wouldnt not ahve come true. The samne can be asked for Satan. Why punish him if he is just doing his job?

According to Matthew 27:3, Judas felt remorse for what he had done and hung himself.
Judas was never really "punished". No one but God knows the heart of Judas or exactly what happened. For all we know, Judas could be in Heaven, because you cannot lose your salvation. If Judas truly believed, even if he did something as horrible as he did, he cannot lose his salvation. If you think about it, we deny Jesus everyday by the sins we commit. We are just as guilty as Judas.
God is the judge of our heart attitudes.

Good question, my Son! I've never believed that God would punish someone for eternity anyways. Poor Judas. He was doing what he thought was best, ended up betraying a good freind and then killed himself over it. Heartache like that shouldn't be punished. People in this century are doing far worse things. I think he just went Home to God.

It probably wasn't God's will for Judas to be the one who betrayed Jesus.
Of course, this fulfilled prophecy only adds to the sake that God's Word is true. So someone had to fulfill it. And they would be punished, as you say, whoever it was.
Was he supposed to get a robe and jewels for betraying Him?

Because a message had to be sent that we should not treat people that way. We should not betray them -- especially for something like money -- as Judas did.
The prophecy would have been fulfilled anyway, even without Judas' act of betrayal.

Did Judas go to heaven for helping Jesus to complete his mission, or is he burning in Hell for helping God. Interesting. I have heard that he is a Saint to some sects in the Catholic faith.

It was all part of God's plan. Judas punished himself in the end if you recall.

Why punish any of us- its simple we all desrve it! Only thru accepting the gift of grace are we saved, not by works- so Judas was judged on his belief and not his works (actions).
