I had moderate heartburn with my first pregnancy. If I remember correctly it started at about the time of my second trimester. But, with my second pregnancy... Whoa Nelly! I was eating a bottle of tums a week , I think! It started at about the same time and got progressively worse until delivery. My OB/GYN said that it was because I "carried" my babies differently. My boy was very low and my girl (the second) was very high. The more the baby presses on your actual stomach, the more heartburn you are likely to have. (And as for the heartburn/baby having hair myth is concerned, both of my kids had lots of hair. Lol.)

You might need protonix. I had a hole in my esophagas from acid and ulcers and protonix healed it ALL up. You will have to ask your Dr for a perscription. But it works really good. I have not had to take pepcid or nexium or anything after a week treatment of protonix (pill form).

Well when my ulcer bothers me, I drink a glass of milk, it soothes the burning.

Ask your doctor, some over the counter remedys might interact adversely with what you are taking.
