No, Adam and Eve weren't real people at all. They are merely symbols! Just like the creation story isn't meant to be taken literally, but instead meant to be taken figuratively. It's all just a metaphor for the omnipotence of God.

There is not much information on this topic. However, archaeological research suggests that there were human-like creatures roaming the earth before Adam and Eve.
This may sound confusing, because many people believe that God had just created the earth and everything else just before creating mankind. However, a more careful reading of the Bible reveals that the universe and the earth had been in existence for a very long time before Genesis 1:2.
Some refer to the 'Gap theory' of creation, where there is a large elapse of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. That is, God created the universe (with the earth) billions of years before the earth BECAME "without form and void."
The New International Version of the Bible has a footnote that indicates that the word 'was' in Gen 1:2 could also be properly translated 'became'. This is supported by Isaiah 45:18, which declares that God did not create the earth in the devastated condition that it is found in in Gen. 1:2. So that there was a time interval between when God created a perfect earth and when it became devastated. The rest of Gen 1 is God's RESTORATION of the earth.
So, Adam and Eve were the first people, if we define 'people' as the creatures that God was ready to use to fulfill his purpose. Those human-like creatures that came before, were not people.

Depends on whether you’re religious or not. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever to support that Adam and Eve were the first humans. Adam and Eve are just fantasy characters in an imaginary world written in a book or play called the Bible.
The Bible is just a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve etc, and of course some intriguing imaginary places like Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and Limbo.
I certainly don’t believe in the Bible and I doubt any reasonably intelligent person would either. However, if you view the Bible as a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve, Noah, and so on, then you can certainly start to see a clever interwoven plot, that the audience is unaware of. It’s really just a drama thriller with clever twists.
You see, if you seriously think about it in an unbiased manner, then clearly the actor God in the Bible could really be the Devil, and the audience (religious believers) are being sucked into being the bad guys, who then use religion to get everyone fighting each other.
On the other hand, the more intelligent audience (Atheists) spot the plot and try their best to teach believers that this is just nonsense, stop getting sucked in.
Adam and Eve are just imaginary actors in a play, but some people have over time, decided that the play is real. That's sad.

No, Adam and Eve were not the first people. That is a myth. Nobody knows who the first people were... and how would you classify the first people? Would that be the first bipedal primates? or would it be the first to use tools? perhaps the first to practice religious rituals... We live in a world without absolutes which is contrary to what the Bible will have you believe. If you begin to think purely in black and white you lose something very valuable... your mind.
There is a compromise however. It's been found that there is a genetic "Adam" and a genetic "Eve." That is to say, there is one modern woman and one modern man from whom we are are all descended. Let me make it very clear that these two individuals lived in different time periods, they may have never even met or even been on the same continent. Don't go getting a picture of Eden in your mind. This simply states that all of the genetic variances can be tracked back to a single male and female somewhere in time.

Read Genesis 2
Here are other scriptures to support that:
1 Corinthians 15:45
45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1 Timothy 2:13
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

Adam WAS the first MAN, but Eve was not the first woman; that honor went to Lillith, originally created at the same time as Adam (according to some accounts, Adam and Lillith actually started out as a single hermaphroditic being, and was then split into two by God). Lillith got kicked out of the Garden of Eden because she insisted that she was Adam's equal, rather than accepting a subservient role (specifically, because she wanted to be on top during sex). She was then said to have gone off and started her own garden, and copulated with demons to produce incubi and other stuff like that...
Then God tried to create a second wife for Adam -- out of nothing, right before Adam's eyes. But Adam was repulsed when he saw her being assembled (for he saw that "she was filled with vile secretions") and rejected her out of hand. Not much is known about what happened to her after that -- it's not even clear if she even ever had a name....
For God's third attempt, God first put Adam to sleep (so he wouldn't witness the process again), and made Eve out of Adam's rib (assuring that she would have to be second fiddle to Adam).
If you're really interested, you should try looking for a text called the Book of Zoar; though you likely won't find it in many Christian bookstores....

The Bible states that God created man and woman during the six days of creation.
It says:
Gen 2:7 Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.
Gen 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the man He had formed.
Gen 2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is like him."
Notice that it states that the man was "alone".
Gen 2:20 The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man no helper was found who was like him.
Gen 2:22 Then the LORD God made the rib He had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man.
notice that it continues to state "the" man, solitary, alone.
The information you need is in any Bible in the first two chapters.
If you do not have a Bible you can read it here:

even if they were the first people ,others were made to populate the earth.. that way there would be able to have villages of people by the time cain came by to marry a woman from that city.because if everyone reads the bible..Adam and Eve only had cain and able.. then cain killed able.. then cain took off to the village of nod. Then that's when adam and eve had more children.. so how can there be a village of people and cain have a wife when the bible clearly states that adam and eve only had cain and able. Then no mention of more children til they were pretty much left childish after able is killed and cain ran off..

The Genographic project from National Geographic has genetically pinned down our Adam (the father of all currently living males). He lived lived about 60.000 years ago in the east of Africa.
If you're interested you could look here:
https://www3.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/atlas.html
click on "60.000" in the time bar above the map. Then click on the circle in east Africa with the tool tip "Adam" and you can read about this guy. He was most probably the cleverest guy of his time, because only his ancestors survived.
I think Eve has yet to be discovered.
