Okay, I'm not sure when my dog breeded, my mom forgot to write it down, but her **** are swollen, but I can't seem to see the pups kick or anything, does this mean she's not due soon or is it normal not to see them kick? What things can I look for to know how much longer we have.

Don't say "Get her fixed", we're going to when the pups are done weening.

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

I've had two dogs have litters witin the past two years. There is a few ways to find out approximately when shes gonna have these puppies. First- you will see little movement towards the very end of the pregnancy. We actually took our dog in to the vet and had an X-ray done. It's harmless to the dog and they can tell you how many she will have and approx. how large they are. Right before she goes into labor the dogs temperature will drop to about 100 degrees. So as long as you don't have an issue taking your dogs temp (rectal) you will know when shes about to have them. The temp will drop about 24-48 hours before she will go into labor. Make sure you fix her a place to have these puppies as well. Somewhere she will be comfortable and make sure she is introduced to this area in plenty of time before she goes into labor. You do not want to wake up to your dog having her puppies on your bed, TRUST ME!!
Is this her first litter? If it is she may not know what to do after she gets the puppies out. There will be alot of blood and a dark green mucus. Yes, dark green, don't get freaked out it's normal. Make sure you have a tarp under whatever blankets, and towels you have out for her, it will seep through. She should rip the sacks open and begin to clean the puppies. If she doesn't do this, you must do it for her. Have something to suction out their mouths and pinch the back of their necks and make them scream to clear the airways. The cords are a little tricky. Tie them off with dental floss and then cut them (only if she doesn't do this all herself) Then make sure they are nursing.
Stay calm and Good Luck

You should notice discharge about a week before she has the puppies...she will become restless the day she has them...take her temp every morning and every night from now(until the pups arrive). Her temp will drop (normal is 100/104-ish). The only things to look for besides the temp drop is....being in hard labor for more than 2 hrs (hard labor is pushing with no puppies produced)...most puppies are delivered after about 6 pushes...in this case, keep your vets emergency number handy!...In-laws had a dog that went 45 min. between her last 3 puppies (she had 7 in all...very tired)...1-2 hrs after the last puppy is born, look for a normal bloody discharge...black or green?! get her to the vet ASAP...this means that she either has another pup (usually dead) or a retained placenta (sp?). If discharge is normal, don't worry...bleeding turns dark the next day, so don't worry to much if it does...you should take her and the pups to the vet after 24 hrs...just to have her cked out...I'd do this, because most of us are not vets, and if we do have experience delivering pups, we are not there with you!

Good luck with your puppies! Your girl will come back into heat shortly after the pups are weaned (a month or two later) be sure to get her to the vet before then!

Thank you for spaying your baby!

first off take her to the vet and get an untrasound to see how far along she may be. Next the kicking of pups you will not see it as it isn't like the foot of a baby kicking. Their paws depending on breed are the size of your pinki nail. and even then you can only feel it the last few weeks. Just because her nipples or vulva are still swollen doesn't mean that she is + pregnant. Could even be a false preganncy as they have the same level of hormones no matter if they are or are not pregnant.

ok... welllll

Her temp will drop 24 -48 hrs before delivery... look for her to deliver in the middle of the night... 90 % deliver at night....1am or so...... She will start nesting a couple of hours before delivery and you will know when labor start.... she will pant, pace, nest , wine. all sorts of things....if this is her first litter she may confuse contractions with the urge to poop and ask to go outside alot.... let her.... a good walk will help aleviat pain and bring labor along.....My shepherds first pup was born outside cause she refused to push in the house.... I just pick him up ran upstairs and broke the sack and gave it to mum.. she took over...
I am not sure if this is a large breed or what but you will know when active labor starts....

Things you should have,

Baby bulb suctioner thingy..lol to clear nazal passages if need be...

lots of clean towls to clean them with.... a little help from you never hurts... it also stimulates pups....

no wax dental floss.. for umbelical cords.... if needed.. better to have and not need....

small scissors same reason as above...

heatpad on low to place pups on when mum is activally delivering next pups...

when she starts delivering just make sure she is confy.... pup should nurse inbetween pups being born.... this brings on contractions.... If this is a large breed and she has a larg litter do not be suprised if she take a two hour nap in the middle of labor... this is normal.... about an hour into it jsut take her on a brisk walk5-10 min it will get things going again... If she takes a break and does not start having pups with in and hour and a half and you are sure she has more pups call your vet... also call your vet and let them know you have a litter due in next few days... I hoped this helped a little .... and relax... dog and human have been doing this for thousands of years.... she will be ok...

IS SHE FAT????? if not then you have a ways to go....or not prego.. if so then you prolly have pups on the way

in case you may sense doggies, you have everywhere from 2 wks to an afternoon or 2. start up taking her temperature a pair situations an afternoon (rectally). everyday for a dogs is around one hundred and one-102. The temp will drop as she nears beginning, and as quickly because it gets under ninety 9, she would be able to maximum in all probability circulate into hard artwork interior of 12-24 hrs. she would be able to start refusing nutrition and appearing under pressure/nesting in early hard artwork. because of the fact the doggies circulate into place she would be able to sense the ought to poop generally. you be conscious of she's getting close once you spot this, so watch her intently whilst she is going out. quickly you will see seen contractions. Have a sparkling heat whelp section set up for her. doggies decide on a solid warmth source to maintain them a minimum of eighty 5 ranges for the 1st week or so. ninety 5 is better, yet make helpful the mummy can get faraway from the warmth source to a greater mushy eighty ranges or so. discover your vet's telephone sort and an emergency vet sort basically in case there are problems. you may nicely be chuffed to digital mail me whilst she starts to whelp in case you wish some 'online' suggestions. even nevertheless it may be maximum suitable to have somebody knowledgeable come over to stroll you thru it. solid success!

It takes about 60 to 63 days for the puppies to come after the dog has been bred. You can feel them really easily about two weeks before they are born. Good luck.

You should take her to a vet so you can find out everything and find a proper way to take this.
