It would certainly be an easier world if everyone had the same religion......there wouldn't be as much fighting in the world. It would probably be a much better place. I think it would also be pretty boring if we all believed in the same things, because there wouldn't be so many different cultures, and customs...because we'd all do pretty much the same things.

have you thought about the fact that some dont belive in heaven?
Besides we would never get everyone to drop the little things that hold different religions apart.
it wont work till the end of time, when true belivers in christ are gone and the devil creates a united religion.

Now wouldn't that be boring... Same thing as Those who Like either Coke or Pepsi. There will always be different beliefs depending on where you live or how you live... The main thing is that most believe there is a Greater Power than themselves out there somewhere....

People can make up their own minds about religion. Some believe, some do not. It is a dream.

Not that far in the future there will be one world religion. The process has already begun. In the end time there will be only two faiths, God's and the Beast's. Then God will show who the true God is and when Jesus comes there will be but one faith.

Everyone thinks there own respective religion is the right one.
However, one day (sooner then later, I believe) the world will move to a one-world religion, led by the anti-christ.

I think one of the purposes of religion is to give small people the opportunity to feel superior over others.
If everyone had the same religion, how would they be able to get that wonderful feeling of "moral superiority" also known as the "holier than thou" effect?
Such people don't want there to be one religion. It would ruin their motivation for it.

I think your question should rather be why can't we all just respect each other's religions and beliefs instead of trying to all be boring and the same.it all comes down to respect and understanding really.even if we all were one religon,we'd find something else to fight about so, i say whether someone believes in heaven or hell or whatever, we should all just be tolerant of each other and celebrate our differences :)

The reason we can't is that the practitioners of each religion are absolutely certain that their version of reality is the correct one, to the exclusion of all others. It's the kind of certainty no amount of logic or rational thought can penetrate.

Because people are greedy, and constantly dream up new religions to make a buck. Mormonism, for example.
