"The Empire never ended."

Now THERE'S an obtuse reference!!! I'm the Dennis Miller of Yahoo Answers. Well, the old Dennis Miller, before he became all right wing and preachy.

I think that we are returning to the Dark Ages. The conditions that are developing in the U.S., and internationally, seem to parallel many of the elements of life in Medieval Europe:

Dominance of religion
Resistance to science
Debates between philosophers and theologians
Warfare
Famine and plague
A large population that is functionally illiterate and relies on the spoken word and images for information about the world
Struggles for political power
Religious conflict (Christianity v. Islam)
etc.
etc.

Depends on if Religion succeeds in bringing on a new dark age world wide or not. Certain parts of the world are very much in a dark age right now.

we are living in the 21st century no doubt about it and too much of our material desires, greed and lawlesslness is leading us back to the dark forces of life.. ...and if we don't do anything to avert all those, we surely are going back to the dark ages.
