This guy I have just started seeing again told me to let him know when I want him to come over today. I told him that me and my roomies are going to go have dinner with my mom and grandma down at the pub down the street from my house.

We haven't been seeing each more than a few weeks, do you think I freaked him out? I never think of introducing a guy to my mom or family as that big of a deal, but some poeple do. My family is just real laid back and don't care too much.

he just said 'well maybe another time'.

Why would having dinner with your family freak him out? If you're asking whether he got upset because you had other plans, I hardly think so. He was probably just being polite and not wanting to intrude on your family.

What you might do to make him feel welcome, is to invite him and your mom and grandma to dinner at your place (or take them out somewhere reasonable) and give him an opportunity to meet your family and vice-versa.

This is a big step for a guy, it's a whole other level of seriousness. If he's not ready to take that step, then he's not will to make any type of commitment towards you just yet. Give it time.

Or it could be he's just uncomfortable in these type situations.

no i dont think that you freaked him out maybe you made him worried and scared more than anything because maybe he thought you were cheating on him since you were oging to the pub and yes i think you should introduce him to your parents so he can get to be comfortable around them and he can get to know your family and maybe hell come around a lot more offten.

By his response, it does sound like he freaked out. All though to me personally that just shows how mature a person is. If he's scared of commitment than its better to let it be known from the beggining. Now, if you know this than you just made it all ackward.

Yes, you freaked him out. He wants to get to know you better before he meets your family and friends.
