Yes and it is cool.... But once, i got trapped trying to get back in my body. Scared me and I never tried again. Many unsetled spirits floating around out there that would love to claim your space in the world. As Jim Morrison spoke of the indian spirits jumping around in his head...

I have tried quite hard for a while now, because it sounds very xciting doesn't it? I managed to do something else whilst trying to leave my body, which I wasn't planning- I looked up my experience and apparantly I had activated my kundalini energy.
I got close once but bottled it...heart rate went thru the roof when I felt some buzzing and a hint of separation.
You can find sounds on the net that encourages the theta wave frequencies in the brain which are the waves that we have shortly before falling asleep. Apparantly they are conducive to astral projection

Psychics and mediums have developed consciousness on the astral platform, it is not recommended that you pursue a venture into this subtle form of existence without an experienced guide.
The astral platform is not to be confused with the spiritual platform, there are three platforms of existence, material, subtle or astral and spiritual.
You have three bodies a gross material body consisting of molecules and atomic particles, a subtle or astral body consisting of mind, intelligence and ego, both of these are material or temporary and cover the real or eternal spiritual body.
Those who remain on the astral platform are in an in-between state of existence, these entities for varying reasons of attachment, are devoid of the material body but remain here, rather then moving on to another material body as they cannot return to the spiritual world, due to material desires and activities.
As many of these entities have left their material body, due to suicide, drug abuse, violence etc, there are many dangers if you interact with them, so astral travel is not recommended.
If however, through spiritual practise you revive or resurrect the eternal spiritual body, which is your original identity, that is not only recommended, but is the purpose and meaning of human life.

Me personally, no. But if you're really interested in this, back during the 60s and the 70s the CIA actually funded research into this. No kidding, they really did. They called it "remote viewing" since some people alleged that they could "project themselves" psychically into distant locations where, say, sensitive meetings were taking place. Imagine how useful it would be to have someone who can "snoop" on Osama bin Laden's --or anyones--latest top secret meeting?
You might research this on google and elsewhere using the key phrase: remote viewing, or psychic viewing, or similar terms combined with "CIA studies". (In the end, the official report was that they found nothing...nothing useful anyway). Still, fascinating subject.
Good luck!

Yes many times ,followed instructions from a book by Tuesday Lobsam Rampa, can't remember the title as I've read a few but if you can still get hold of them give them a try,it really does work,I only got as far as leaving my body and floating around the dwelling I was in then panicked and bolted back which was a little scary, wish I had the bottle to go further

When I was a pre-teen I did it all the time. I have no idea how and have actually tried to do it again.
I was flying over my neighbourhood and could see everything as clearly as if it were in a wakened state of consousness. The only thing blurry were the far off houses.
Actually, I've had several, but as an adult I question whether it is actually an OBE or my psychy.

yes i have. It scared the living daylights out of me first time.
After doing some research into the subject i found with practise i could do this pretty much at will.
I found Robert Monroe's books on the subject very useful there is i believe a web site to the Monroe institute you maybe want to check that out. At first i just traveled without any real control but in time found i can,to some extent at least go where i choose to, although i'd be the first to admit its never an exact science and can be a bit hit and miss.
I can tell you there are other places that we don't usually see some are just like our world and you fit right in. Others are totally alien to what we know and can even be down right scary.
I've been to what i would descibe as other planets there was one i recall like our earth but with three moons, two like ours and one that was dark and spooky looking. This oriental guy in a suit pointed out to me our star as it was seen from his world.
Another time i went to a place that looked just like fifties america big cars and all, but it seemed to be in perpetual twilight and everyone there just ignored me when i approached them.
By the way it is true that you have a cord attaching your soul to your body i've seen mine its silvery in colour and about as thick as your wrist. Another thing i can tell you about astral projection its very easy to interfer with, i find its near impossible when i'm tired, run down, unwell or troubled in any way.My guess is your body knows when it needs the ghost in the machine to stay in the machine.
I found the whole experience turned me from a ordinary believer in the church of england I.E i didn't attend church but loosely called myself a sort of christian.
To someone who now believes in the hereafter without question.I should know i've been there as it were.
It opened my eyes to the failings of our religions.I've came to believe in reincarnation as the only sensible plan that fits the universe as i've experienced it.

Yes, I have. The first time was by accident. I'm a belly sleeper, cannot for the life of me get to sleep on my back. One night I was really upset about something, almost hysterical, and I was on my back. I wore myself out so much that I started to fall asleep on my back. I felt this very strange sensation, then a blackness that was too bright to look at, and I was suddenly looking down at myself. I have since learned how to do it consciously.
The only unconscious time I did it, recently, was waking up from surgery. I was looking down at myself being lifted from the surgical table to my bed then I was abruptly back in myself.
I think, though, that anyone trying this for the first time should have someone who knows how to see the spirit realm with them. It would be very easy to get lost and not return to the body. When I 'head out', I keep in contact with the silver cord that binds my soul to my body. I also have a totem that looks out for me.

I bought one of those things last year. I put it in my living room. Sometimes I turn the other lights off and let that astral projector shine all those little lights onto the ceiling. It has helped me learn the constellations very nicely and helps keep me in practise for the ones that I only see for brief periods of the year with my telescope.
