Where I used to live when I was a kid, there was this old Catholic school that had been shut down for as long as I can remember, although apparently my friend's dad had gone there as a kid. Well, one day myself and two friends decide we want to check out this abandoned school. We get there and all of the windows and doors are boarded up, but we manage to find a way in. It is hot outside, but inside the building that air is cold and dry. We do some exploring, but do not find anything interesint. . . until we find a way down below the building. As we start down the stairs, it starts getting colder. The stairs seem very long. As we continue down, there are things on the wall, evil looking things, written in what we believe is blood. Undeterred, we continue down. The temperature now seems to be near freezing, and we can see our breath in the faint light of our flashlights. We begin wondering if our lights are going out, they seem dimmer. We finally reach the bottom and there is blood everywhere. The walls and floor are covered in blood. There are symbols that we do not even recognize drawn in blood. Words are written in no language we understand. The darkness seems to be closing in on us and it feels like we are not alone. So after taking a few pictures, we decide it is probably not a good idea to stay, and hightail it out of there. When we get outside, the police are there waiting for us. They took the camara and made us leave, cautioning us not to come back. That was pretty damn creepy.

My parents are pack rats and it drove me crazy growing up.
I haven't been there but the creepiest/weirdest is those stories of people that own like 117 cats and the house is just infested with feces.
Then again I guess those crime stories with the guy that has 26 dead bodies buried in his backyard are pretty bad too.

the underground tombs ("The Catacombs") of Paris. When Napoleon was restructuring the city, they planned to build avenues going through cemeteries, so all of these bones were put below earth in this long tunnel (it's 1km long). Now it's open to visitors. It is the CREEPIEST thing I've ever experienced, because the tunnel is lined floor to ceiling with skulls and bones and there are morbid quotes over the doorways. gave me chills!

Oil City, Pennsylvania...It is a small town that's been there for a real long time. The whole town had this weird creepy vibe about it straight out of a horror flick...at least that was my experience when I visited it in the fall of 2000

The prison where they filmed Shawshank Redemption at. Its closed down and not used anymore, in Mansfield, Ohio. Kinda neat, but lotsa ghosts in a place like that.

The old frontier prison in Rawlins, Wyoming. I stood on the gallows and in the gas chamber. That is one spooky place, I would dare anyone to spend the night in that place.

When I lived in California, my friends and I visited an old jail that was no longer in use. It was scary and there were many local urban legends about that abandoned jail. I was young too so it was creepy to me.

My ex mother in law's house. Very strange place. Felt heebie jeebie and smelled weird-seemed like a wax museum in a creep show. Still get chills from memories of it.
