Criss Angel is an illusionist. He has a show that's purpose is to deceive you into seeing something you are not really seeing. It's called ENTERTAINMENT. Some people just can't seem to be able to accept the fact that what they are seeing is just a trick, instead attributing it to the devil, satan, beezlebub, hades, etc. That's their own inability to understand.
All magicians deceive you...there is no such thing as actual magic or any sort of "paranormal" ability. James Randi (www.randi.org) offers a $1,000,000 prize to anyone who can prove (under proper scientific conditions) they actually posess any sort of magical or supernatural ability. Not surprisingly, no one has suceeded in winning it. Magic only exists as an illusion, but is just not real.
Way too many people read way too deeply into shows like Mindfreak or David Blaine's shows. Stop taking things like this so seriously and just accept them at face value, in this case, does it entertain you or not? If not, change the channel.

Argh, mothers! The man is a magician. AKA, a sleight of hand artist. There's nothing evil about it.
Sit your mom down and explain to her that magic doesn't really exist. It's just that they've practiced these tricks so often that they've gotten really good, and it looks like magic. But it's not.
She is probably also reacting to how he looks. He's dressed that way for theatrical reasons. Back in the day, all magicians wore capes. That didn't make them vampires, right?
Suggest that both of you sit down and watch the show together. Then if she's still freaked (ha, freaked!) you'll either have to obey or find a way to watch it on the sly (why no, I was NOT an obedient child, why do you ask?).
I sympathize. I once got yelled at for saying "geez!" My mom said it was a shortened form of Jesus. Oy vey!

No, Criss Angel has NOTHING to do with the Devil. In fact, magic has NOTHING to do with the Devil at all, but rather with entertainment and imagination. There's no religious affiliation with magic and the practice and study of it are actually relatively very harmless. Magic shows are all entertainment, not meant to draw a viewer, audience member, or participant into any kind of a religion, but rather to entertain.
Magicians themselves do their shows because they want their audience to let their imaginations run wild and also to have a good time. Magic shows themselves are all about impossible things temporarily becoming possible in the hands of the magician, through the use of various things, such as keeping an extra card hidden in a pocket or manipulating various objects with one's hands to make them appear or disappear at will.
All of those acts in which magicians make things disappear really have normal explanations. As an amateur magician, I won't tell you how disappearing tricks are REALLY performed, but will tell you that what really happened is not what you saw. You only saw what APPEARED to really happen, which is what the magician wanted you to see and there are PERFECTLY normal explanations for a magic trick, that have nothing to do with the devil at all.

Your Mother should not let you particpate in witchcraft. It is real, it is of th edevil and it will destroy your life.
Lev 19:26 "You are not to eat anything with blood in it. You are not to practice divination or sorcery.
Deu 18:10 No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery,
Deu 18:11 cast spells, consult a medium or a familiar spirit, or inquire of the dead.
Deu 18:12 Everyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and the LORD your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.
2Ch 33:6 He passed his sons through the fire in the Valley of Hinnom. He practiced witchcraft, divination, and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did a great deal of evil in the LORD's sight, provoking Him.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,
Gal 5:21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar, about which I tell you in advance--as I told you before--that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Joh 8:44 You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober! Be on the alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

Everything Criss Angel does is an illusion... there is nothing satanic about magic. I am a magician myself and i can verify... it's all tricks, no matter how real it looks. The truth is so simple you never expect it.

This is just simple stubbornness. It is simply a trick and has nothing to do with the devil, I can wear black clothes and make it look like I'm ripping my thumb off but I still wouldn't be a satanist. Religion makes people crazy.
