Like, it states they should cover their head; so why don't they do it?

It says: 'every woman who prays or prophesises with her head uncovered dishonours her head'? Do women just read the bits that say men must submit?

Debydoo. Well, if you are right and it did mean 'hair as a covering' then how could it say 'If a woman does not cover her head: she should have her hair cut off'? 1st Corr; 11.6. How can she have her hair cut off if she's bald? Anyway, the two words are different in ancient Greek.

You totally misquote the Bible -- don't worry, most people do:

Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

This verse has to do with women speaking in church. It says that a woman that speaks in church must have her head covered. The absurdity of this is that a little later, Paul states:

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

I can tell from your child support question that you are an @sshole.

Yes a woman's head is to be covered. Read on ...........Same Chapter Different Verse .. it is explained what the woman's covering is to be.

1 Cor 11:14. Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15. But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for HER HAIR IS GIVEN TO HER FOR A COVERING.

and a man is not have long hair??????????? I know Jesus is pictured with long hair but do we really know? I don't mean to start anything.............

Women do not have to cover their heads, as churches and society no longer require it. That being said, i do cover my head when i enter church most of the time, because it is a reminder of modesty, as well as a humbling act.

Do you wear a head covering? Are you prophesying? What are you trying so hard to learn?
I think many get caught up in traditions of man's teaching. Take what you are studying to the Greek. Study the works of Paul . or study Josephus.

I stay in submission (not subservient) to my husband. He stays in submission to Jesus. We are both the bride of Christ. Jesus is our head covering.
