my dog wont listen to me sometimes when i tell him to sit and he will stay when i tell him to laydown he looks at me and walks away

You should think about signing him up for obedience school.

My dog is stubborn and I have been reading "Cesar's Way" and it is very helpful. I have to take my dog on a walk everyday and when I leave the house I have to go first so my dog know I am the leader.

Give him a snack when he listens to you and maybe he will remember that and do it next time you tell him what to do. Make him sit when you say sit and continue to do that repeatedly and eventually he will get the point.

You have to be patient. Make sure he knows that your in charge, but you can't just yell at him, keep a stern voice but be gentle, and reward him when he does something right, and don't get him hooked on table straps, once in a while is okay, but make sure he knows that your food is not his. You have to make sure he's not spoiled, and by rewarding him, I mean petting him, don't make him get fat on jerky treats.

Have you taken him to training? That's what I am doing right now. There is NO WAY I could train my own dog without help.

Might be deaf or disobedient or lke pokemon where you need more badges for it to listen to you

YOu need to go to obedience classes they will teach you how to teach your dog

keep your commands to one or two words only,it's all in your tone of voice and most importantly be consistant!
