They are bloody big things and slow so why do people find them so hard to miss????

I live out in the country, and see the same thing.
I think people are just driving so fast and don't look for little critters. We've had to learn to look for them out here!
But, I'm sure most of it happens at night, and they're hard for people to see. I 'm sure it's accidental. Who would WANT to take a chance on messing up their car while hitting a little animal??? Unless they're just jerks !

One thing's for sure, if they do it deliberately they'll regret the damage to their front end - I was a passenger in an escort a few years ago that hit a badger, and it tore off the front bumper and put a huge crack in the radiator!

They hit them at night.Badgers are nocturnal, and humans,(who drive like lunatics in their ridiculous steel boxes thinking they are clever, cool and going nowhere that ever matters) kill them because they can't stop or swerve in time.Or because they are listening to some crap on the radio or thinking about how they want to shag the other monkey in their life, whilst they selfishly pollute the world and treat each other like ****.I may be a cynic, but I don't like them, animals are the real inhabitants of earth.Humans are a passing abberation, soon to become extinct,I hope. signed A.Badger.

people are jealous cuz they are not paying road tax lol
but infact some time if you are traveling very slow speed they suddenly run to cross the road and you get no time to miss or save them, this is true story ,in pakistan a DONKEY came i nthe road the driver try to save and he steer to the right and colaided in to the coach in front ,40 people died

It quite often happens in the dark - the animal freezes in the car head lights in the middle of the road and unless you risk you own life and of your passenges by swerving to avoid it, unfortunately there is nothing you can do but hit it.

Because it is hard to see something in the road when you are eating McDonald's, dialing your cell phone and trying to reprimand your children all at the same time. People don't pay attention.
