Your getting married outdoors so there is probably already a certiain casualness to your wedding. I say wear them and be comforable! There are lots of cute bridal sandals out there that you could get to dress it up a little but still be allow you to be comfortable. And if your dress is long then no one is really gonna see what's on your feet anyways!!

I guess it depends on the sandals. If you have any doubts, wear a pair of nice shoes for the ceremony and bring along some sandals for the reception.

Flip-flops, though, are pretty casual and I don't think they'd be appropriate unless it's a beach wedding (but that's just me!).

There are plenty of pretty sandals out there that aren't too casual, though, so if you found a pretty pair that are comfortable and coordinate nicely with your dress (gown), then go for it.

I think that sandles are a good idea especially if it is a summer wedding. I see that now there are alot of nice wedding type sandles to choose from with rhinstones ect.
Its a nice change rather then the traditional white satin pump that it seems like everyone would wear a while back.
I also notice that as time goes on women are putting theiri own uniqueness on their appearance for the wedding. I once saw something on TV where this lady wore a white dress with red satin strappy sandles, and red nail polish, I thought it looked great, and I think its a nice change, everything doesn't have to be so traditional all the time.
Anyhow Congratulations!

I just bought some "Just Married" flip flop as a gift for someone I know that is getting married soon. Although I think they are by far too casual for the actual wedding, you might want them for the honeymoon.
They were $5.99 each at Jo Ann Fabric. They had white ones for the bride and black ones for the groom. If you walked in the sand, it would leave a Just Married imprint.

It is absolutely appropriate! I wore white leather ballet slippers and felt comfortable all day long. You don't want to be in any pain. The sandals sound great - congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

Is your wedding informal and in the summer? If so, sandals are fine.

If your wedding is a formal church affair, try satin ballet slippers. Just as comfortable, but more dressy.

We're getting married in September outdoors in Texas, and I'm wearing sandals, so I say go for it!! ;) I'm going to be getting a pedicure, though, to be sure my toes are presentable...

I got a pair of these from Dyeables:

Depending on the length of your dress and the style of the sandals, you might be able to get away with it. It's your day...The ball is in your court! Best Wishes!
