I've been using prescription wart acid or whatever it is, since April, but it's still not off. I cut off the dead part every week and reapply the medicine several times a week. I'm sick of it.

I had a wart on my forearm that was getting bigger and bigger and it hurt. I tried to trim the dead tissue off as much as possible, but it did no good. Damn thing would just grow some more. I kept a bandaid over it because I was embarrassed by it. My mother-in-law, a R.N. told me to apply castor oil on it about two times a day and keep it covered with a bandaid after application. I figured it couldn't hurt to try, and it actually got rid of the wart. I can't remember how long it took (it's been several years now), but it was a whole lot better than going to a doctor to have it frozen off (which I've heard is really painful) or putting other concoctions on it. You can buy a small bottle of castor oil at any pharmacy or drugstore for like $1.50.

First of all, warts are caused by a virus. Contrary to what someone else here stated, a wart won't last for eternity. Eventually the virus can die off and go away, taking the wart with it.

My son had a wart on his foot. It was bothering him really bad. What the dr. did was "freeze" the wart. The dr. had a small circle that cupped around the wart, then he sprayed just a small amount of the medication into that little cup. It will sting for a bit, but in the matter of a week or so, the wart is dead and gone.

Sorry to hear about your wart. When I was in my early 20's, I had 10 on each hand. My Doctor (and this was a real honest to goodness Doctor) told me to cut a potatoe in half, rub the potatoe juice on the wart, then bury the potatoe. Pretty crazy huh. I didn't do that. I got rid of mine quite by accident. One day I was cleaning my gas range, and while sliding my hand under the pipes, I accidently cut the top off of one wart. A month later, each and every wart I had dissapeared. When my Doctor asked me how I got rid of them, I told him. He didn't believe that is what caused them to go away and said it was just coincidence and they were probably going to go away on their own. Of course that is why they went away. Just keep doing what your doing. When you finally get down to the roots of that wart, it will go away. I know it is a pain, but that is just life sometimes. good luck.

hey its been long since u have had that wart. dont cut it off, did not your doctor prohibit you from doing so. and also there are many types of warts. i had one which was starting to sprout out like an flower. my doc insisted on surgical removal and he cut it off completely before it started to get rooted deep enuf to cause damage to my bone segment. visit an dermitologist rather than an general physician in this case.

take care. all the best

Personally, I've never had to deal with a wart, but my best friend's daughter had one and I suggested the over the counter medication called Wartner for her. It finally went away on it's own so she didn't have to buy any, but I would suggest looking into it for your situation too.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!

First put ice on it for 2 minutes then put duck tape on top. Wait 15 seconds then rip off. There is a chemical in the ducttape that takes it oof. The ice numbs it.

soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and then tape it over the wart at night when you go to bed , may have to do it a couple of times though.

cover the area with duct tape. make sure no air gets in and this has to be kept on for at least 4 wks if not longer. by cutting it off every week i was told by a dr. that you can spread the seeds.

It's probably going to last forever. I have one too :-)
Well what's worked for me has been freezing it at the dr's office, applying something called "Duoplant Gel" and covering it with duct tap. But it aaaalways comes back. I just figured that all I can do is remove it as soon as I see it.

You can try the "freeze off" stuff, but I don't know how well it would work as I never had a wart.
