I have been back from Vietnam for 40 years, and have a Purple Heart plate on my car! I have been thanked twice!

Why don't you ask me my experience from the time I got on an Aircraft landing at Tan Son Nhut , how we were treated when we got home, and what the past 40 years dealing with PTSD and depression is like?

Many of the kids in my day were draftees that were getting wasted!

Right now I am in the mysoldier pen pal program. My contact hasn't replied yet. But as soon as he does I will make sure that is the first thing I tell him. I respect military personnel more than some people because I plan to be an F-35 pilot after college.

Yes my son was in Iraq I met several returning troops. They are always the same. The look down and feel embarrassed. They just say it's my job. They get quite overwhelmed. I think it's admirable. I also thank every other vet I run accrossed and tell them welcome home. It is the very least I can do.

I haven't, because I have no reason to be grateful. Iraq was of no threat to me or the U.S. I do find it a shame that people are enlisting for this war, and I feel sorry for the people who had already enlisted with the sole intent of getting to go to college, but I will not thank them for fighting.
