For our first date we made brownies in the ktichen of my dorm.

To propose he said that he wanted to make brownies, made me think he just was hungry, hid a ring and a note in the brownie mix, and by the time I got to it, he had gone down to a knee. By the end we were both crying.

What made is so special was that it was personal. It was a recreation of our first date. It was US.

Now we are giving everyone little brownies as our wedding favors. :)

My engagement story is probably the most boring and least romantic yet ...

After dating for 9 years since high school and living together for 5 years, we just sort of decided that it was the right time. Neither of us went through the formality of actually asking each other but we communicate so fully on everything that we just talked about it and decided we wanted to do it. We shopped for the diamond and designed the rings together.

Looking back I wish that there had been some sort of romantic moment ...

My fiance planned a whole day the weekend before Valentines around the proposal. The great part was that I was furious with him the night before (for whatever reason I can't even remember). And so we really got into it. I had become convinced that he wasn't going to propose for another year or so.
Well, he had planned it to be that very next day.
He took me to a place we had gone for one of our very first dates, kind of where we both knew it was going to be a lasting relationship. He was acting kind of funny. It was a butterfly house, and really humid inside. He didn't want to hang his coat outside. I remember making fun of him. Well, we went in and he was so nervous, but I was clueless. We sat on the same bench where we had sat on our first visit and he had a goofy look on his face. I kept thinking, when he finally does propose, this will be the place. Then the management came and told us it was time to go. So we went away. I was totally clueless.
Then we went back to his place, where he fixed an awesome dinner. We got into another little spat, left over from the night before (my fault) and then I apologized for being so uptight. He said, are you ready for dessert, and I said yes. So he went in and took forever preparing it. When he came out, he had a piece of homemade cheesecake on it with M & Ms in the shape of a heart. It only took a second for me to read the M & Ms, one color read MARRY ME, BJB and the other said LOVE LMM.
Of course I said yes, I was all over him with tears and kisses.

Five weeks from now we will be married. Hurray!

He had planned on proposing at the butterfly house, the M&Ms were in his coat pocket. That's why he didn't want to leave his coat. But you couldn't take food in there...and he was just so nervous. He originally was planning on another weekend earlier, but I was on a crazy fasting cleanse diet thing and wouldn't eat anything. See how I sabotage myself...ha ha...

My husband proposed to me 3 months after we met - we looked for rings after 1 month of dating. Ironically, I met him through his sister - who was getting her nails done the same time as I was. She came over to me and said I'd be perfect for her brother - and insisted I take his email address. I wrote to him, he wrote back and within a week we met. At the time I was 25 and he was 32. It was getting close to Thanksgiving, and he invited me to the VIP dinner reception for a charity Christmas-related event. He was a pastry chef at the time and had provided the desserts. We finished watching an auction when Santa Claus came up on stage and called for us to join him. Then he got down on one knee in front of a huge crowd of people, and asked me to marry him. I was completely shocked, did not expect for it to happen in a public place - but said yes and then we began planning our dream wedding. The nicest touch to it was that he made our wedding cake - a 5 tier masterpiece that I will remember forever. We've been married nearly a year now, known each other for 3 years, and it is a honor to be with him.
