Where was the New Testament when Jesus was here teaching and when was it supposedly to begin? IF as the Church of Christ states that it was not until Acts that the New TEstament really began, then it means that Jesus lived in the Old Testament times and it holds no water that He would turn over the time He lived in and make it of no accord. And then too, why would Jesus quote from the Old Testament if it was to be not used any more? If you do some study you find that at least 75% of the New Testament is direct quotes from the Old Testament so if it were true we are not to take the Old Testament any more, that takes away 75% of the New Testament too. Not much of a bible to go on then, is there? They are afraid of the Ten Commandments because they are not keeping all ten but only nine of them if even that many. Afraid to have anyone see the fourth one that very few ever think to keep any more but that the Pope of Rome or the Roman Catholic church changed from the Seventh to the first day of the week, the venerable day of the sun or Sunday. They boast of it in all their writings and the protestant churches go along and follow its teaching rather than what God says. No wonder the world is in the state it is in when you want to follow a created being that boasts the power that even God does not have and yet the whole world wanders after him.

I'm afraid you don't know anything about Jesus and the Bible. He never "overturned" the Old Testament. If you read his warnings to his disciples in Matthew and John, he repeats the same laws shared by our decendants in the Old Testament (that includes the Ten Commandments). Where did you read that Jesus said, "oh go ahead and kill people now - it's a new world"? He didn't. He supported the earlier Words of God. And Genesis 1:26-27 says nothing about evolution. It says God appointed the humans to rule over the other creatures on the earth. If you're going to criticize someone else's religion, get your information straight. Read the whole Bible so you understand it's entire meaning. You shouldn't be criticizing the belief's of others anyway. I'm not mocking you or criticizing your beliefs.

JESUS Operated through the Old Testament (Contract).
A 55 MPH speed limit sign woulda' looked kinda stupid thousand's of Year's ago, when all they had was horse's and wagon's. BUT, they still had to slow down going through the Town's back then and even in the Wild West they had Law's concerning Horse's and Wagon's. The IDEA is to not harm anybody while you going here and there, on a Horse and Wagon or an Autombile, and the Law has to change because the Mode of Transportation Change's.
GOD dosen't change, but HE change's the way HE deal's with mankind.
Example, I think you could have alot of Wive's at one time, then GOD changed it to just One Wife.
You had to do certain thing's to be SAVED by the Old Testament (Contract).
After JESUS died on the Cross (New Testament,Contract) alot of the Old Testament Pratice's were done away with.
BUT GOD dosen't change (HIS NATURE), so HIS basic Law's (10 Commandment's) dosen't change.
The Old Testament (Contract) can be found in the Book's of the BIBLE that we call the Old Testament.
Get it?
And the New Testament (Contract) can be found in the Book's of the BIBLE that we call the New Testament.
The "Contract" tell's you what you must do to be SAVED. You can find one Contract in the Old, and One Contract in the New Testament's.
What's left of the Book's of the BIBLE describe many other thing's.
It is ongoing about the Display of the 10 Commandment's, but don't you think that it is a GOOD IDEA to follow them?
Don't they make Sense?
Aren't we better off following them?
Remember the West befor the Law took over.
Hope this helps.

"This is an eternal law for all generations"
This concept is mentioned in the Torah no less than 24 times,
(Exodus 12:14, 12:17, 12:43, 27:21, 28:43, Leviticus 3:17, 7:36, 10:9, 16:29, 16:31, 16:34, 17:7, 23:14, 23:21, 23:31, 23:41, 24:3, Numbers 10:8, 15:15, 19:10, 19:21, 18:23, 35:29, Deuteronomy29:28)
It is absurd to accept the Divine origin of the Torah yet deny it's eternal relevance

Actually parts of the Old Testament are incorporated by reference into the New Testament (such as Paul incorporating the Ten Commandments into his letter to the Romans).
What I mean by incorporation by reference: certain terms used by Jesus and the Apostles (Like "sexual immorality") are often left undefined. In order to find a definition, one has to assume that since Jesus was a Jew talking to other Jews, the definition of this term must lie in the Jewish scriptures since Jesus talks as if he takes it for granted that his audience already knows what he is describing without any further explanation on his part.
In other words, the Old Testament is used as a guide for interpretation of the New Testament, since it gives historical background and definitions of terms.
I'm not sure how to answer the second part of your question because it seems illogical. Jesus never said that the Old Testament was inaccurate; just that it was now an obsolete agreement between God & mankind. Jesus seemed to take Genesis literally in several of his statements.

The Old Testament was not overturned by Jesus.
Jesus is clear in saying that He did not come to do away with the old Law; He came to fulfill it.
There are individual rules that were rendered inapplicable by the New Covenant of Jesus, but these are individual disciplinary rules only.
That's not to say that the entire Old Testament should be disregarded.
It can be loosely likened to civil law.
In civil law, some things have changed over the years. But other things have remained the same.
Just because some civil laws have changed, doesn't mean that the entire civil law of years gone by no longer applies.

In the first place, Jesus was dead for about three hundred years when the Bible was put together! The Bible was written by men, many men as a matter of fact and then various Popes took things out and put their own particular stories in.
The history of how the Bible was put together is a long one and if an intelligent person learned about all the translations, editing, adding gospels, removing gospels, all kinds of changes made not by God but by men, they would have a very tough time believing it was "the word of God".
It is a collection of stories that have some history, philosophy and just plain colorful but made up stories.
Read about it sometime!

Where does it say, or who told you such a thing. If you hear a weather report of rain the next day and it does rain then the forecast is fulfilled. The Law was a forecast showing our need for Jesus. All the blood sacrifice was a type of Jesus' sacrifice for our sins. It has been fulfilled. We can now go back and look at it see the evidence there of Jesus and His mission to save us from death and hell. Or we can ignore it like you have apparently done..

This is a tricky area, I have been told by the thumpies that Jesus changed the laws of the old testament. When I asked if that meant God was wrong I got a completely different response that Paul changed the laws of the old testament.
Either way, if one pokes holes in a belief system people will get mad. It might be better just to leave it alone.

Jesus didn't overturn the "Old Testament". I honestly don't understand where some people get there information. Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it.
Also, we are free to study evolution no matter what we believe. God created the world and everything in it. Who cares what method was used to do it.
