Hell was created for the non cristain people , People that do not believe in Jesus. For who ever believe in him shall have ever lasting life!! :) I also think hell is a consence for thoose who think you can get by with just about everything they are wrong!!!
We cristain are not prefect but we are forgiven through Jesus Christ and the blood he shed for us so that our sins could be washed away.

We certainly have a different concept of punishment than God by some accounts. A shoplifter does not get treated like a murderer to us. Being apart from God is apparently one and the same, you go to hell. I can see angels and the devil being punished, they saw God all the time, but what about us stupid mortals that don't really know much and are easily tricked. We are inherently weak, subject to our environment and natural inclinations.

Yes there is indeed freewill. However, it is based on faith that is far from absolutely provable. If God came down and talked to us with the cameras rolling then there would be no sinners, so why do so many lost souls perish because of this circumstance we are in?

I hate the idea of eternal damnation and I am trying to be the best Christian I can (like so many others). The idea of "what if I'm not good enough" bothers a lot of people. Any corrective action is mitigated by the fact that we put our faith in a 2000 year old book and what others tell us their theories are. It is so difficult.

Even the scoundrels of history - the Stalins and the Hitlers, might seem excessively punished for their crimes after several billion years go by. Would a loving God do this? I tend to think not. Still the evil should be punished, exactly how and to what degree, I don't know.

There's another unclear believe, they thought us that if we're bad boys we well end in hell, How come somebody who loves allow such a thing like that? That's because actually we have been misinformed and hell is not a place where the devil lives neither a hot place with the dead go to suffer for all the eternity. I have learn trough the Bible the true; and makes a lot of sense; knowing that God is just and love, like in the past when someone became evil he destroy them but never torture them even we as humans wouldn't tolerate to punish our loved ones by letting them feel the burn of fire not even kitting, today's kids kick us (He he). That's the true just think about it its logical...you just start to study your own bible and see the way has act before and now.
BE HAPPY!

It seems mean to me, too.
First, consider why you need to think of god as a sort of Santa-daddy who created you, and wants you to do what he says. You are supposed to know what that is and do it. Or else.
Of course, being imperfect--a creation of a perfect god(?)you will fail. Then you have to beg him forgiveness, so you don't burn in a hell he created for his failures. Sort of like re-throwing a pot after it has been fired.
If you do or say the right thing-and who knows what that is?--you will live with him forever in paradise.
Of course, you don't know what that is or where or if it would be something you would even want.
The only information you have is a bunch of old stories written down hundreds of years after they were first told, and tradition sent down to you from often cruel, rigid, and close-minded leaders.
Just about anyone who reads that book has more questions than answers. It is easy to interpret a dozen ways.
Some of the most educated scholars on the bible are ATHEISTS based on finding out it was just all smoke and mirrors.(fables and soft history).
Way to silly for me to even contemplate.
I prefer being an agnostic/ studying to be buddhist. At least I know I can depend on myself. I know if I do something that is not a good idea, I'll pay and others might, too. I can be a source of peace and kindness in the world, regardless of there being a god to make me or not.
You might try Buddhism. It is a very sensible alternative to the bible and all the stuff you have been exposed to in this society. It feels so clean, and calm, not angry and closed.
Good luck.

Hell was created for Satan and his demons as a place of punishment and the only thing that the Devil knew that he could do to get to God is trick people into following him there.

Our faith is not of one that preaches believe in God or burn in hell. Disbelief does not result in someone being sent to hell due to that. It's God knowing that is where we're headed in the first place and him providing the way out through Jesus.

God is loving but he is not forceful in making people love him. He has provided salvation for all, it's just that we have to accept that gift of grace. God was not looking to be a puppet master, hence our free will to choose.

His kindness is that he is trying to save us from that inevitability but so many people have twisted it as if God is this angry believe me or burn forever. It's more so that he is reaching his hand out so that people may grab hold and be lifted out of the depths of the sinful wordl that they themselves created.

Stop and think about this question, Read the Bible and you will find the answer, not all of man kind is kind, so God created a place for them to go forever.

He created Hell as a place of seperation from sin. He loes the world, but he realizes that sin and salvation cannot exist in the same plane of our lives. The Scripture says, "No man can serve two masters (in this case, Satan and God) for he would love one and hate the other." Another Scripture says, "For what communion hath light(God) with darkness(Satan)? And what concord hath Christ with Belial?" Since it's not possible for sin and salvation to coexist in a person's life, Hell was necessary for the judgment of sin for eternity.

You know Dante has inscribed on the Gates of This place was forged with love.

The existence of Hell PROVES God's love. He gave us free will. We can't have free will without being able to choose something that is not God. You must choose to go to Hell, and it is fairly easy to choose not to go to Hell. We have all the chances in the world to accept mercy for our crimes and choose Heaven. Without free will, we would not even be alive in the same we are. There could not be real love as we would be automotons.
