For the response to derstrudelmonkey answer I guess the hookers are out and so is the beer.

Advice... ask him. He will probably choose something in which you and the family are not involved. Do not worry, he still loves you.

It also depends on his likes and dislikes. If he is a loner a party with his friends is not what he would like.

However, if he has a lot of friends, maybe you can go to a disco or rent a place for a couple of hours and throw him a party with his friends. Contact his best friend and ask him/her.

You should be involved but not controlling. Check in from time to time. But do not stay IN the party.

Also, if he has not been a good boy, you can always throw him a Barney themed party. That will straighten him.

Other things you might want to check out are a skating party or pool party.

With the 14 year olds, it is best to ask him what he wants. Give him some options. A video game night with pizza and popcorn is always fun. If he wants to invite girls, you would do better having the party out somewhere, like a pizza place or video game place, etc.

For a day time party a barbeque is nice. Don't plan games, etc. Let the kids do what they want. Just have plenty of food and soft drinks, etc.

Tell your son happy birthday from Patti.
Good luck.

The things some people will say... Goodness! Throw him a regular party and invite a lot of his closest friends. How much money are you willing to spend? Take him out to see a movie and invite a few of his really close friends and then take them all out for a treat.

A hooker for a 14 year old kid? What was that guy thinking? I am sure he was just teasing.

Well I would just ask him what he wants to do.
Be there for him but also at the same time give him space.
That age is confusing enough and parents embarace young teens.
Just be cool and let him decide, he will thank you for it when he is older.
Getting a hooker would be wrong and stupid. Too many things out there that could kill you. I know you wouldn't want his present to be death.
Only a man would think that was cool. God there are some sick people out there.
I wouldn't recommend a hooker to anyone. Just think how nasty they are, yuck!!!!

Happy Birthday to your son.

I'm 14. Does he do sports, 'cause that's an option, or how bout just letting him have all his friends over for a 'party', like not a birthday party with cake and presents just something fun, without parental planning, or a dance?

Hookers always hit the spot for me. Too young you say ? There are teenaged hookers out there too. Now before you get all upset, our allies in the Gulf war, Holland, Thailand, the lower East side, have a long and proud history with legalized prostitution as a tool for adolescent child rearing.

Of course you could always just throw him a party at Chucky Cheese or something like that, but it would only be a matter of time before he got a hooker for himself. Do you want him to learn about it on the mean streets or do you want to be the best Mom in the world ?

Think about it.

He's fourteen so,its time to loosen the apron strings and give him the greatest gift of all:
l"The right to make his own decisions"
Let him decide what he wants to do and sponsor whatever is "Reasonable"

A Very Happy Birthday to him

You should go up to a room and just every like 30 minutes go check on his party becasue he is going to wanna be alone but don't leave him fully alone just check up every 30 minutes and for like the party go to the market and but the stuff he wants for like food and ask him if he wants decor and alll that fun stuff and don't let him invite friends like talk to the parents before inviteing unless you already know the parents!
Hope I helped!
