No it's the greed that money inspires that is the root of all evil. If you are a good and holy person, money would not be the focus of your life...it is just a tool to help you achieve things.
And I truly believe that to "those with the power, great responsibility is expected"...meaning if you are so filthy rich you should do some good for society with your money. Even those of us with nothing give generously to those in need.
If you are selfish and uncaring, money will just enhance those qualities.
Mind you, even the purest of souls can be swayed by great fortunes, so you must always be on guard as evil is always waiting to create trouble. :~)

True, the love of money is the root of all evil. However, you can't have a love of something without it, so saying, money is the root of all evil is correct too.
I think that money, and the love of it, are the root of some evil, but there are so many other beliefs, loves, and whatever out there that end up leading people towards evil. You can't say anyone thing is the root, except for maybe life. But I don't believe that either.

1 Timothy 6: 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. This Bible verse does not say that money is the root of all evil. It say that the "love" of money is the root of all evil.

No, I believe the Bible which says the want/love of money is the root of all evil. Greed. Money can be used as a tool. When you want/desire money itself to the point where you'll do anything to get it, then it becomes a problem.

No, I don't believe money is the root of all evil. I think the negative human pride that says I am greater than you or God or I am more powerful, I am more important, I am selfish, I am not love. Me, Me, and Me is the root of evil. Money is just one symptom of selfishness if used incorrectly.

Actually the verse is "the love of money is the root of all manners of evil". And yes, I know for sure it's true. I can be intensively greedy myself....and looking out at the world, it's amazing what people will do for money...or to try and get it from someone else.
