The only thing you can do now is wait patiently and be there for her in her time of need. While waiting you can slowly show her what life would be like with someone who doesn't torture her. Don't rush everything, take it slow. She might be too afraid to go beyond being friends first.

If you are close friends, she has probably told you about her misery. Help her see that she deserves better treatment than what she's getting with hubby.
