hold on.

okay so while i havent read the first link although i HAVE seen the story. basically its been scientifically proven that prayer doesent work. i find it difficult to beleive that we actually need a scientific inquiry to tell us that bullsh*t is bullsh*t. thats obvious.

as for the second link its still loading as we speak. i hope the video will be amusing and educational to the theists on yahoo answers. although i doubt that it will change their minds at all.

those who choose ignorance ofver logic and reasoning will remain ignorant.

thanks for the links! hope the video is good.

Luckily, God already knows what you have need of and gave it to the world about 260 years ago. Well, now that that is taken care of...

FAQ: What books are in the Word and what are apocrypha?

"The books of the Word are all those which have the internal sense; but those books which have not the internal sense, are not the Word. The books of the Word, in the Old Testament, are the five Books of Moses, the Book of Joshua, the Book of Judges, the two Books of Samuel, the two Books of Kings, the Psalms of David, the Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi: and in the New Testament, the four Evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John; and the Apocalypse. The rest have not the internal sense" (Arcana Coelestia n. 10325 or Heavenly Doctrine n. 266).

FAQ: Why different testaments and books in the Word?

"As regards the Word particularly, it has existed in every age, though not the Word we possess at the present day. Another Word existed in the Most Ancient Church before the Flood, and yet another Word in the Ancient Church after the Flood. Then came the Word written through Moses and the Prophets in the Jewish Church, and finally the Word written through the Evangelists in the new Church. The reason why the Word has existed in every age is that by means of the Word there is a communication between heaven and earth, and also that the Word deals with goodness and truth, by which a person is enabled to live in eternal happiness. In the internal sense therefore the Lord alone is the subject, for all goodness and truth are derived from Him" (Arcana Coelestia n. 2895).

Despite what the evidence says, christians will say the following:

1) the New York Times is a liberal propaganda piece.
2) they'll pull some other 'study' out of their a s s done by religious fanatics that 'prove' that the power of prayer works.

There's just no reasoning with some people.

Sorry I do not open links (Been burned once and that's enough for me!)

I have found pray to be a time of great refreshing of the body soul and spirit. (Rarely do I go into prayer with a "give me" attitude)
I have had many prayers answered I think because of the quality time I spend in quiet prayer.

There is No Power but of God . and the power of prayer does work. its gets your mind off of you and on some one else and God is bigger then any sickness. and God is Real I don't care
what thy say. and he is a Loving God. and he does allow thing
to happen so you and others can open your eyes and see what thy are doing right or wrong.

It makes sense to pray if you know Christ as savior, if you haven't accepted Him and have the Holy Spirit in you, then the only prayer God hears is in regard to accepting Christ anyway.

I pray because I desire communication with God and He desires communication with me.

I have no point in commenting on why or why not anyone else prays.
