It scares me to think that there are however many billions of people just behaving themselves because the Bible said so.

1. I don't think morals and God are the same thing. Before I got saved I was still a moral person. The law and your parent help set up your moral standards.
2. Well, every religion thinks it is right, so of course I'm going to say society should accept the Christian God's morality.
3. Just the testimonies of others and the miracles they witnesses when they spoke the name of God.
4. Believe by faith not by sight. Jesus told Thomas, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed' (John 20:26-29).

I thought the same thing as bettierage..... scary.
God is not required to have morals....our society deems what is moral and what is immoral.
And because most societies frown upon harming others and taking advantage of unsuspecting people, we carry this moral.
Our social morals are always evolving and this is why things need to keep changing for so many God fearers. They need to rethink their God's rules to make sure that they are at least compatable with the general society's rules.
For example, society now eccepts people of various different lifestyles and sexual preferences, so it would be immoral to discriminate against gay people, but the bible clearly is opposed to that lifestyle.
Society accepts women's rights to be her own person and not the slave of her husband (if she even has or wants one) but the bible clearly states that a woman is to serve and obey her husband.
Does that make being a single working mom immoral? No, because society doesn't think so.... even though some X-tians might not agree with it.
All communal animals have rules by which they live.... and we just choose call those rules which apply to humans morals. They are a basic set of rules we must follow in order to be accepted by our fellow human beings, we base our laws on these rules and anyone who deviates from those rules is outcast... by imprisonment or mere social shunning.

The reason people are so confused about morality is because they are following so many false religions begun by some heretic who didn't like the Catholic Church so he made up his own set of rules. The Catholic Church has explicitly outlined morality for us begun by Christ Himself. Priests spend years and years researching morality so they can help their flock be good Christians. Traditional Catholics are very blessed because if they have a question regarding morality they may ask their priest and their priest will give them the same answer that any priest or theologian would give them. We rely on the Church's wisdom, placed by Our Lord to guide us. We do not rely on our own foolish puny brains to figure out each detail of morality. Everything the Church says makes perfect sense and is pure.

Cheater, that's 4 questions in one. You're getting your money's worth. And furthermore, since this question is not "In the interest of creating a database of questions with answers" I refuse to answer more than saying, No, N/A due to #1, No, Yes, and majority rule says the Christian view.

Hi Darwinian
1. Is God pre-requisite to morality?
Yes of course. If God exists and made us we have to assume he made us for a reason. And since we do bad things and feel bad when we do them (or at least our conscience tells us its bad). We also have to assume God wants us to be moral because he has ingrained us with a sense of morality.
2. If God is pre-requisite to morality, which God's morality should we as society accept?
The Lord God Almighty. The only God that exists.
3. If we are to accept the Judeo-Christian God's morality, is there any empirical evidence that backs the existence of the Judeo-Christian God?
Sure. The Bible.
4. In the absense of any empirical evidence, we would be believing in the Judeo-Christian God on faith? Which version of the Judeo-Christian God? The Christian view or the Judism view?
There is no absence of evidence. Faith is evidence believe it or not.
For instance you have faith that the sun is a ball of fire. You believe this even though you never actually traveled to the sun to experience it and feel it for yourself.
You also believe this is a person typing you this message. You believe this even though you have no hard core evidence. You simply assume do you not?
God says in the Bible that you cannot fool him and that he knows every man's heart.
Psa 44:21 would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
And for good reason because he made these little hearts of ours! Now the evidence I speak of is the Bible. When you read what it says you will have all you need to know to believe God (the one who made you and knows everything about you) is the one who made it.
Jesus said in his story of the rich man in Hell:
Luk 16:27 And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father's house--
Luk 16:28 for I have five brothers--so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.'
Luk 16:29 But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.'
But of course our goal as to go to Heaven, not necessarily to escape Hell.
Rev 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
Rev 22:2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Rev 22:3 No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him.
Rev 22:4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
Rev 22:5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Rev 22:6 And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place."
Rev 22:7 "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."
Rev 22:8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me,
Rev 22:9 but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."
Rev 22:10 And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.
Rev 22:11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."
Rev 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done.
Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
Rev 22:15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Rev 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."
Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.
Rev 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
Rev 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
Rev 22:21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
Just make the right choice.

No, No, No, and No. There is no evidence. If there was we would have been beaten over the head with it a ba-zillion times already by now. I have given up waiting for evidence and just plain refuse to believe all the B.S.
