They all are correct versions. It just depends on what is easier for you to read and understand. All of them have the "Spirit" of the Word of God. I would recommend getting multiple versions. I like to compare. I prefer the New King James Version (NKJV) over King James Version (KJV). I get lost in all of that old English and prefer a more modern version. (My most favorite version is the New Living Translation (NLT)). I also enjoy reading the NIV and Amplified version.
((Just remember the original text of the Bible was in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic...sometimes difficult to translate into English or American)).
Try not to get caught up in legalism, being told you must use this Bible or worship this way or that.
Taking something common and treating it Holy is the very definition of legalism.
Also try not to get caught up in "religion," being told you must follow these sets of rules to be Holy or acceptable to God. God loves you!
Concentrate on your relationship with Jesus and everything else with fall into place.
REMEMBER:
Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.
Relationship is God's way of reaching man, through Jesus Christ!
Grace to you and God Bless!

All English translations are just that, they are translations of God's word in the original language. Even the KJV folks have recognized that new information, additional understanding and the need for modern English has required an update to the old KJV which has resulted in the New KJV. Most any study of how the Bible has been translated over time would agree that the 1611 version known as the KJV is a little outdated in several aspects.

It's not soo much that it's the "correct" version. It is the version that most stays true to the original Greek and Hebrew. So many versions or translations today have of course veered away from the original text, either adding to or taking away from the orgininal. It is also written pretty plain, for the common folk (not that the Bible is not understandble for it is completely understandable). So again, it's the translation that is closest to the Original Text..

The KJV isn't necessarily the 'correct' version, but it is the 'best' version. The reason is it was translated by Godly Greek and Hebrew scholars as compared to unGodly Greek and Hebrew scholars. Now I've heard big long lectures about why KJV is the best, but for the sake of time (and for the reason that I don't remember them), I won't go into them. I have yet to hear a legit argument for NIV or the like.

You want a bible that can be taken back to the original text! The KJV 1611 is used by many concordances. A concordance takes a word to the meaning of the original language word.
The best way to do it is to get a bible that has a concordance in them. or better learn the languages and read the original texts

Actually it isn't my translation of choice. I like something a bit more modern. I still want good scholarship so I have embraced the New American Standard. It is translated from an older codex. It really isn't any different but close to the source is better.. Jim

It was under penalty of death that King James had the Bible translated correctly. The translators were to make sure it said the same thing, if they changed anything in it, they would be put to death.

It is from the Textus Receptus--- the least contaminated by any Cults.
Horte and Westcott were paid off handsomely for producing
ALL of the modern perVERSIONS.
If you have to think too hard using the KJV the next best is the New KJV. -a very poor second best.
