Daily contact and honesty. Communication is the first and foremost important thing in any relationship; however, I think it is multiplied by 10 if that relationship is far away. There will be many temptations while you and your partner are separated by the miles, just don't give in to any and all will be fine. My fiance and I have a long distance relationship also. We talk daily on the phone or on-line. We get together each and every weekend and this time is very valuable to us and we appreciate each second that we are with one and other.

Lots of communication. It's rare that LDRs that end do so because of the actual distance. It's usually because there's some problem that just gets brought to the surface quicker because communication is so important.
Just talk, find a routine, lay down rules at the beginning, and remember how much better off you will be in the relationship because you're able to work so hard on communicating, which is the most important thing in any relationship!
