for a while. When my aunt was a baby she cut off her cat's whiskers because she diddent know any better, and the cat was bumping into the wall at night for a long time because they use them to feel in the dark, but eventually they grew back and the cat was fine.

Yes!! Cats use their whiskers to feel as they walk so they don't bump into things. It's the equivalent to how blind people use a cane to feel bumps and cracks. Without whiskers the cat will probably really injure his head every time he moves. DON'T DO IT!!! It really will mess up the cat!

OMG I HATE cats and I wouldn't even THINK of doing any so horrible. Cats use their whiskers to "feel" their way around. They won't go through anything that is smaller than the breadth of their whiskers. This would be a terrible thing to do and why would you even think of such a thing? And I'm the one who hates cats!

I don't know. My cat is already pretty messed up. I think they're all brain-damaged at birth. Or maybe it's all that landing on their little kitty-faces all the time when they're kittens.
Curiosity killed the cat. You got me wondering now.
"Here, Snookums! Fishie, fishie, fishieI I got a fishie for you! That's a good girl."
Snip! Snip! Snip! Snip!
I don't know, she seems about the same to me... OH, MY GAWD! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU MAKE ME DO TO MY CAT? She keeps walking into walls now and she can't stop! Oh, poor baby! I'm so, so sorry! See what the bad boy made me do to my little kitty? I'm SO, SO SORRY! *sob!* Here, have all the little fishies."
Just kidding. No animals were harmed in the making of this production. This has only been a test. If there had been an actual cat-maiming in your area, you would have been instructed to tune to the Emergency Broadcast Channel in your area. Repeat. This has only been a test.

Yes, cats use their whiskers as a 'sensing device', why on earth would you want to do it anyway?
