I mostly think about why are we the only living beings in a huge universe (yes I know there's the possibilty of other sentient beings). What is our purpose and why is there no other beings in our little universe?

Your not the only one, but I don't find myself pondering those things. I'm fairly convinced there is no external purpose to it all.

No, you're not alone. From an athiestic/evolutionist standpoint, there is no purpose in life that we can gather from the world around us. From a Christian/theistic standpoint, the ultimate purpose is to glorify God in all we do.

The reason there are no other self-conscious beings in the universe is because God created man in His image, and only man. Because we're created in His image, we are self-conscious, and can therefore observe ourselves and think differently. Yes, there may or may not be "life" on other planets, but if there is any life at all, it's most likely bacteria, if any.

Dear Mekd: No. You are not the only one! One day driving to work I asked why the mystery of life had to be a mystery. And I asked, inwardly, why did God have to be a mystery? Wouldn't it be better to have us know? Why not?

Because I was asking that with all my heart - I found myself guided in the ensuing years to one thing after the other that began enlightening me. Finally, all those things I was led to pointed to one single item. For ME, it was a book called, "A Course in Miracles." I say - for me - since I am not trying to convince anyone about THEIR direction.

You will implode if you are never guided on this, because truthfully we, as humans, have no mind-ability to conceive of the wonder of it all. It is a concept beyond us. Yet - occasionally, something is written down that brings wonderment to us.

One Religious theory suggests that God wrote the Bible for humans, but if God genuinely existed, he probably wrote thousands of Bibles for other intelligent life-forms.

The universe is about 15 to 20 billion years old.
Our solar system is about 4.5 billion years old.
Humans have been around for less than 1 million years.
Therefore all human Religions, Gods, Bibles have been around for less than 1 million years.

Since the universe consists of billions of billions of stars, there will be billions of stars capable of supporting life on other planets orbiting them.

The universe has been around for more than 99.99% of the total time and humans for less than 0.01% of the time. On a universal scale, humans have only been around for a blink of an eye. Most other life in the universe has been around much longer. Science would suggest the probability of intelligent life existing on another planet elsewhere in our universe is over 99%.

Religion suggests that God created the universe and wrote the Bible for humans. So for the other intelligent life in our universe which has been around far longer than humans, God must have produced thousands of other Bibles for them.

Implode? Don't you mean explode? They are two different terms and have different causes. Your head should explode when the brain thinks too much. It should implode when something heavy rolls over it.

You don't need to be stressed out by this.

Read your Bible with your mind as open as your eyes and all will become clear.
