LOL it was far too easy to push buttons with that last question. Go back and read the details and see if you get the punchline now. Even the wiccan couldn't figure out the irony ("wise ones" indeed!). Sooooo touchy! So I guess my question is why do the religious take themselves, their opinions, and especially the opinions of others so very very very seriously? This is a very serious and important question!

Was that last part obvious enough for ya?

A nun walks right into a bar, merely about deafened with the help of the loud song, and disconcerted with the help of the Cheer's anytime the light fixtures flicker. She asks the bar guy were the bathroom is, contained in the loos there's a statue of a saint with a strategically positioned plak thanking someone for the presentation of the statue, she theory "that is unusual", yet did what she had to and left. each-one cheered at her & because the nun walked handed the barman he provided her a loose drink saying "because your one persons you're able to have this drink on the abode" The nun seems shocked and factors out that she will be in a position to't drink, she's a real nun. The bar guy then sais, "at the same time as human beings raise the plack on the statue the light fixtures bypass out."

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. They are not entitled to express it in a manner disrespectful of others. Think about what happens when people reply in a disrespectful manner to your posts (if they do). There's your answer right there as to why it's not OK.

And as I recall, we have to agree to abide by Yahoo policies in order to sign up for this service. If so, then I really wonder what could possibly have possessed you to admit publicly to using many accounts on Yahoo. Read the rules, it's not allowed, especially not for purposes of getting around Yahoo regulations.

So the question becomes, 'Where is your integrity?' Do you always sign on the dotted line (or whatever the electronic equivalent is), and then go and do the opposite? Would you like your spouse to 'sign on the dotted line' (i.e. say 'I do', promise to be faithful, etc.) - and then go and do the opposite?

Maybe you think this is comparing apples and oranges, but is it? How many standards of truth are there? You like having 'white lies' told to you? You don't get offended when it happens and you find out about it later? I find that very hard to believe. And if my suspicions are right, then right there is your answer about why it isn't OK to tell even 'white lies'.

I think your question betrays certain preconceived notions about what constitutes a 'serious topic' - which may color your perception of discussions to be found here on Yahoo. And that is just what they are: your perceptions.

And the way I know that is that other people, viewing and answering the same questions, have a completely different view. In other words, we get out of something like Yahoo Answers what we put into it.

And now I invite you to take a careful look at some of my other answers, and then notice which words I did not use even once during this answer. You might be quite surprised at the results...

Why don't atheists/agnostics go to a different section? Why be in an area you have no interest in? Atheism is a non-belief, except maybe in the "all hail the great big bang" foolishness, so its not a religion or really even a belief, so go to the political section or something. Most of you apparently don't even think you have souls, so it can't really be a spiritual thing you're looking for, so go somewhere very superficial, like the dess up section or something, its where you guys belong.

I didn't read your previous question. Byyour own statement it is not worth considering.

People, religious or not, are touchy about whatever is important to them. If you believed your own ID (veritas - Latin for "truth") then you would know that.

One day you will stand before God. You will not smirk but will kneel to acknowledge the veritas you rejected while you were alive.

As a former scoffer, I know this all may not matter to you. But it should.

Nobody likes to be told they are wrong and nobody likes to be ridiculed for what they believe.
You sound so smart...I bet you could sit on a popsicle and tell us what flavor it is LOL
Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
And remember in the battle of wits you're sure to loose.
