Time is a function of the speed of light. As a result, the existence of time is dependent on the existence of (moving) light. A truly empty universe would have no passing of time - or rather, time would be an irrelevant quantity. So in fact, if you believe in the two concepts, then the answer is no and no.

The Big Bang Theory is wrong. Astronomers discovered this about 5 years ago when they realized that the universe is expanding at a higher speed rather then slowing down as they thought would occur. So there is no big bang nor will they be a big crunch so your basis of this question is uninformed.

Ultimately you want to know when time began...who knows for sure right. Evolutionists will say it was MILLIONS AND MMIIIILLLLIONS of years ago to justify their not knowing, Creationists will say Genesis chapter one to try to correlate it with their faith. But who really knows and what purpose will it ultimately serve to debate something that can not come to a conclusion.

It's just like the argument whether one should say Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas. WHO CARES!?!? It's just petty arguments for one side or the other to be right. Circular argumentation of how things transpire according to ones own beleifs just leaves everyone frustrated.

These are all bad answers. Its the same thing as asking if a tree falls in the forest but noones there does it make a noise? Of course it makes a noise, and of course there was a flowing of time before the big bang, our concept of time is things progressing, if time didnt exist then everything would be in standstill, even if its a measurement, theres another side to 'time'.

Time only existed when man started to measure and track time. Time is only a measurement. The only thing that exists is here and now. The past has to be remembered or recorded by someone, and the future has to be imagined by someone.

Humans are not capable of understanding the dimension of time. There is no beginning and no end. Maybe there is life somewhere where time is just like space and you can travel back and forth. There is no end to space either.

Let me explain an odd concept. Time is nothing. Time is merely something that we invented to keep ourselves sane. So, yes and yes. There is no way for time to NOT exist, it is merely a concept.
