There are soooooooooo many ways. (and to think, you might even take this seriously...>.< lol) Okay, fine, I'll answer this one seriously.
I suggest being subtle at first. That way, you don't come on too strongly, and you don't convey yourself as a whore or anything like that (but i definitely know that you're not a whore..i'm the whore remember?? >.> lol) Maybe this guy will be smart enough to take the hint. You could maybe invade his space slightly (girls have the license to do this), flirt a little, laugh a little, smile...etc.
Some of the subtle actions you can do: maybe touching him lightly while talking, laughing more, etc. You could also change up your body position (don't take that in any way other than i mean it..haha) and see if he changes his. If he mirrors it (this is all subconscious, baby) then he's at least interested.
If the whole subtle thing doesn't work, maybe instead of using your actions you should use your words a little bit more. Try to word things so that you show him that you like him, more than just a friend.
Also, while trying this stuff out, you should check his reactions and actions..see how he's taking it or how he's feeling towards you.
A really good method is to actually tell the guy that you like him. Be honest, straight-up straightforward. Become a woman and face the music! LOL! (no, jk =P) Just tell him the truth, and hopefully you'll get a straight/favorable answer back.
But remember to be yourself; don't change around too much, just be yourself and relax. Don't worry too much, do enjoy yourself and act as normal as possible. And definitely do not overdo the flirting or any of this stuff, because that'll scare him away as well.
I highly suggest that you read Superflirt by Tracey Cox...that is one awesome book that'll help you learn how to flirt seductively and subtly.

these are tricks i always do :
look at him when he's not looking. when he notices you're staring at him (he looks up at you) quickly look away and focus on something else. look back at him 5 seconds later and if he's still looking at you, he's interested.
when you're near each other "accidentally" brush your hand over his. if he stays still (meaning he doesn't jerk his hand away), he likes you.
these are tips from cosmogirl i read about put in my own words.
the look test:
when you're talking, look straight into his eyes. if he stares back at you straight in the eyes for at least a couple seconds, he's interested.
the prop test:
when you're sitting and he's around, and you're saying reading a magazine about art or something, he'll come up to you and start a conversation about whatever you're doing, showing he's into you.
the mirror test:
when you're sitting and talking to him see if he mimics your body language (when you put your hand under your chin, see if he does the same) then he's attracted to you.
the food test:
bring a snack to school or when you're hanging out with him. ask if he wants some and if he takes some, he likes you.
the head-tilting test:
when you're talking, see if he tilts his head to the side. the more his head is tilted the more he's listening to you, which means the more he's interested in you.

Do you talk to the guy? If not, start talking to him and flirt around him. He should get the idea in about a week your into him and he'll ask you. Thats if his balls have dropped yet.

Tell him you think he's cool. Then, if he starts talking, or smiles ask him if he's ever thought that way of you. Do this at lunch, or at a casual encounter.
