Do you know how to swim? To go snorkeling all U have to do is float, & relax face down, the snorkel will help U breathe & the swimfins will propel U thru the water. I think the fish will even be atracted to you, so if I were U I wouldn't worry about it, just Have Fun! Aloha!

Well you don't have to be a pro swimmer just as long as you know how to swim and stick with the group. Always swim with a buddy. Besides if you are going to go to Molokini there should always be other tour companies out there and if you seem like you are in trouble just come back to the surface and wave your hands around and they are sure to come and help. Have fun oh yes don't forget to apply sunblock while snorkeling.

I assume your going by boat to Molokini. You don't have to be a great swimmer, but you do need to pay attention. Swimming in the ocean is easier than swimming in fresh water because salt water makes you more buoyant. You need to pay attention to the coral and rocks, as well as the wildlife for all the obvious reasons!

Nope. Usually when you go snorkeling, you have a mask, fins, air tube, and life jacket. The life jacket will keep you afloat, so you'll have to take it off if you want to go under the surface. Don't worry -- as long as you're a decent swimmer you'll be fine.

Braddah pmiya is right. Facedown, relax and let the snorkel and fins do all the work. If you happen to see a big old ugly lookin' fish swimming by with big ol eyes... just ignore it and leave it alone... that fish be me enjoying the view...
Aloha and have a good time! :o)

basic swimming is recommended. If you can tread water that would probably be good enough, then you'll just move from one location to another. But you definitely need to know how to swim... you're gonna be in the water!! Unless you are sure you'll be in very shallow water.
