I do not know if any book of God is true, all I know is if it makes you a happy, better person than believe in it if you wish. It can't hurt as long as it is used for good and not evil...

The Bible, Koran, Torah, Vedas, Avesta, etc are claimed to be words of God because some spiritual giants wrote down their experiences or inspirations.
It's easier to follow their foot steps to experience the supernatural like they did or you could explore yourself (working harder). There is nothing achieved by the messengers in these holy books which you cannot. The question is do you have the discipline & commitment involved?
Well most people would rather not re-invent the wheel, so they follow an existing religion. Whether you practise a religion (read its holy book) or not, God can still relate with you directly. You however must open up your spiritual eye & ears in order to see & hear Him.
If you're really interested in experiencing God directly, here is an exercise that will help open your spiritual eye & ears:
Creat an hour a day for quiet time. During this time, sit down & try to relax totally. Push every thought away, close your eyes & focus your attention on the center of your eyebrows. Sing slowly (with your outward breaths) a holy name you're most comfortable with. Stop singing after 15-20 min and then just listen & observe your inner screen for the rest of the time. Do this every day & note your observations.
When your eye & ears are open, you'll never be the same again. Neither will you need any "holy book" to communicate with God.
Good luck!

I am often puzzled at the addition of the words "follow blindly" in these questions. Before I began studying the bible, I didn't believe it was from God. I made the statement to somone that it was a book written "merely by men". Well, ten years of diligent and intensive bible study later, I have come to believe that the bible is truly what it claims to be, given by inspiration of God.
By the way, it's tiresome and insulting to accuse people of believing "blindly"....I've never put so much thought into anything in my life.

Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy.
( An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #82)
If the Quran was written by a nut case then how can it include all those scientific facts?! see the posting of haterhater
You admit that the person who wrote may be wise but you don't want to admit that it is God!, how much wise will be that person in the 7th century Arabia?!
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known that our atmosphere is made up of seven layers?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known in detail the various stages of development from which an embryo grows into a baby and then enters the world from inside his mother?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known that the universe is "steadily expanding," as the Qur'an puts it, when modern scientists have only in recent decades put forward the idea of the "Big Bang"?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about the fact that each individual's fingertips are absolutely unique, when we have only discovered this fact recently, using modern technology and modern scientific equipment?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about the role of one of Pharaoh's most prominent aids, Haman, when the details of hieroglyphic translation were only discovered two centuries ago?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known that the word "Pharaoh" was only used from the 14th century B.C. and not before, as the Old Testament erroneously claims?
Could anyone in 7th century Arabia have known about Ubar and Iram's Pillars, which were only discovered in recent decades via the use of NASA satellite photographs?
The only answer to these questions is as follows: the Qur'an is the Word of the Almighty Allah, the Originator of everything and the One Who encompasses everything with His knowledge. In one verse, Allah says, "If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it." (Qur'an, 4:82) Every piece of information the Qur'an contains reveals the secret miracles of this divine book.
The human being is meant to hold fast to this Divine Book revealed by Allah and to receive it with an open heart as his one and only guide in life. In the Qur'an, Allah tells us the following:
This Qur'an could never have been devised by any besides Allah. Rather it is confirmation of what came before it and an elucidation of the Book which contains no doubt from the Lord of all the worlds. Do they say, "He has invented it"? Say: "Then produce a sura like it and call on anyone you can besides Allah if you are telling the truth." (Qur'an, 10:37-38)
And this is a Book We have sent down and blessed, so follow it and have fear of Allah so that hopefully you will gain mercy. (Qur'an, 6:155)

mmmmm NO. definite, the Bible has been translated, yet most of the classic Hebrew scrolls stay to tell the tale and the translations are remarkably on the fringe of the originals. definite, no longer each and every e book replaced into positioned into the canon ( the bible) however the different writings are nonetheless enjoyed and study and preserved and don't coach information of "tampering." Absence of information isn't information of absence (Carl Sagan). you don't be conscious of for helpful that Gabriel unquestionably "spoke" to Muhammad, we've in hassle-free terms his notice for that. Muhammad not at all complete any miracles in any respect, so the place does this authority come from? Muhammed could no longer study or write, yet his spouse wrote down what he informed him, isn't that "transcribing"? Allah replaced into the very maximum suitable god of the numerous deities the Arabs have been worshiping on the time. Muhammed basically picked the marvelous one to put in fee. The Bible thoughts are over 4000 years old. There are people who see information of evolution contained in the Bible and a constrained few who decide directly to no longer. Jesus informed us that different fake prophets could come after him. He warned us to no longer be fooled. some examples of fake prophets are Mohammed, Joseph Smith, and L Ron Hubbard. you will have faith what you decide on of direction, however the Bible has been shown to be the interest of God with the aid of prophecies fulfilled. The Qur'an has in hassle-free terms Muhammad's notice going for it.

go through the holy koran yourself & then you will know why we muslims BELIEVE IN IT .and hey thats not blind.
The koran reported many scientific facts(NOT THEORIES) 1400 years ago which can never b the work of some nut atleast. as 4 the bible, the present day one is not the one we muslims believe in .it has human intervention (revised periodically by the scholars) unlike the koran which is in the very form in which it was revealed.

In the case of the Quran, you are correct.
Look at a the teachings in the New Testament, and look to the perfect example of Jesus. If the whole world followed Jesus, there would be no poverty, war, hunger. Only peace.
God gives humans free will we are free to love and follow God, or we are free to follow anything you wish.
Good luck with your search, and judge the faith by the teachings of it.
Peace!

Why believe in anything??
Why Believe in History?
I don't believe in Blind faith...even the Bible says to prove all things. If you are an atheist, you won't believe in the Bible or the Quran even if it's proven. As Mohammad said, 'to each his own' I wan't to think that there are very much more atheist 'NUT CASES' than there are Christians or Muslims.

Can you believe the answer the first person gave. How pathetic. These books had to be written by lunatics who had ulterior motives, to control the masses, plain and simple. They are the biggest sinners the world has seen for misleading the ignorants.

Neither Jesus nor Mohammad wrote anything in those two religions and the new testament was written after Jesus died. and much, if not all, Muslim writing occurred after Mohammad's death.
These two people should have been the exclusive teller of divine rhetoric, but they were not.
I am not sure what original work is available in the Jewish religion except for the dead sea scrolls.
