To learn about others and those who do not profess a faith as well as to answer questions, brighten days, and defend my own faith. That and to make new and interesting friends.

There are a lot of seekers here ...
This is great chance to talk to many of them.
And I certainly learn a great deal from the questions and answers.
I also have been particularly and sadly educated on the amount of anger, name-calling, unacceptance and disrespect that exists.
I am a High School teacher and it has helped me understand and see some of the issues. Being young is not an excuse for being rude and self-centered.
Jesus gave us a command to go into the world with his Good News and this is a tool to do it.
My heart loves each every person here.

Personally, I don't have a religion but I do believe that religion and spirituality would be a section for all. Ranging from Christians to Wiccans. Everyone has questions and are looking for answers.

I don't go to a section. I just answer whatever is on the list of new questions on the front of Yahoo Answers. Also, if I have something that may help someone with a crisis of faith, or just a question about the religion in general, I can give that info and hopefully it helps someone.

Joke question or not, from what I observe, many try to have non-believers evicted from YA so they can stop those with opposing views from having their say. All religious preachers just pump their one theory (God exists) down our throats.
When the science community makes a discovery or modifies a theory they publish a paper for all to view, speculate on, and debate. Invariably such discoveries open up our simplistic minds and expand our horizons. Examples would be the works of Einstein and Hawking, to name a very small sample.
So why do preachers have to continually pump their one theory (God exists) down our throats. Why do they stand on street corners and hand out leaflets, yell at passers by, gather huge crowds and push unsuspecting victims over in the belief they will be cured of whatever mental or physical ailment invades them, if they just believe in the theory of God.
Why can’t the believers of religious theory just behave in a decent manner, in much the same way as the scientific community does. The answer to all of these questions is simple. They know their theory of God is wrong, and saturation mental and verbal bombardment is the only way they can convince people, and they do it directly or indirectly for money.

We don't come here to get religion. Just because we are Christians don't mean we have all the answers. Some of us are still a work in progress.

Because the enemies of God have taken over this section and there is a need to counter their decptions and lies with The Truth. The blatent hatred towards God is a clear indication of the influence of satan on the minds of too many.
Those who truly practice The Christian Faith do not practice any man invented "religion" so this is not, by the title of the forum, a "Christian" site. but this is where the hate is spewed out so this is where it must be countered.

a. To connect with people who share our faith in Christ.
b. To connect with Christians of the same religious tradition (in my case, Roman Catholicism)
c. To connect with Christians of different religious traditions (in my case, Christians who are not Catholic).
d. To discuss things with people of non-Christian religions, such as Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and so on.
e. To discuss things with people of no formal religion but who still believe in God
f. To discuss things with people who are agnostic or atheist
g. To explain my faith, and to set straight any misconceptions that others may have about it.
h. To listen to what people whose beliefs and opinions differ from my own have to say -- if we didn't do that, we'd be accused of not being "open minded" enough to "hang out" with people with different ideas.

Was the section designed as, "Come here to get a religion?" It is a discussion forum. I am not even a "Christian," but it is a free country.
