Have them come to a developed country, work for an individual, have clear job description and safety standards, and government controlled standards, and set period of time, so that they can return to home country with some savings. Their take home pay would be about half the minimum wage, or perhaps less. Its a win-win situation. They would be protected by all the same laws as anyone else, but they would be the personal property of the sponsor til the end of the contract.

Seeing the conditions some people live in refugee camps in Africa, anything here would be an improvement.

I should have phrased it as an Opportunity, rather than using the term slavery. Canada has the "Live-in Caregiver Program". It offers jobs to people from overseas who want to work as domestics. They love it. It is just I dont have kids, so I can't "hire" a nanny. That is what I am talking about....Go ahead and add insults...you get your 2 points!

You're confused about the definition of slavery.

Not a bad idea, though - other countries do this and, for the most part, it is a win-win situation.

Never gonna happen in this country, however, as we're a democracy and the cry babies would never stop screaming their heads off about some nonsensical "problem" they see with it.

Interesting question and I might support it. Strange, white folks captured on the high seas and sold into slavery in North Africa came to like the conditions better than in England with its stiff and unbending social structure. I like the idea and think it just might have its place. When you're ready let me know as I have a few chores I need you to do....LOL

NO, look at what the quasi-slavery of illegal aliens has done to ruin our economy and how it has trashed the American way of life.

Slaves would cost more than they are worth and the USA does not need slaves or illegal aliens period, it needs people who do their job as best they can for decent pay. Slaves would just undermine the economy and steal work from legal Americans...... just like illegal aliens are doing presently.

Apparently you aren't very clear as to what "Slavery" truly entails. You cannot "own" a person. Hiring domestics is one thing, sponsorship is yet another, owning someone is out of the question. I can't help but think you posted this question for shock value.

The thought of promoting and supporting slavery is outrageous!

Don't be an idiot. Bring back slavery? What's the matter with you? Win-win situation? Get out of here. This is by far the most asinine question I've seen so far. Ridiculous. It's so stupid that I actually have to chuckle. Bonehead. I'm sure you mean (?) well. But really.

Your 'solution' sounds more like indentured servitude rather than slavery. And although indentured servitude was not as brutal as slavery, it's still a 19th Century concept that is no longer acceptable in todays world.
