SO many people focus on weight. Weight is not indicative of your health. Look at Nicole Richie - she is ungodly thin, smoke, drinks, and probably is steps away from a physical (if not mental) breakdown. Her Blood Pressure is probably off the charts, and her Heart Rate is probably pumping like a rabbit.
Look at soccer players - by weight alone, a lot of them might be considered "fat". But then, they could probably donkey kick you through a wall - after running 10 miles! Beauty as a function has always followed health and longevity. In Medieval Times, chunky girls were considered hot - because they had the money to eat well, while everyone else was starving. So at that time, they were the healthiest. Now we know that health is more related too your Blood Pressure, Cholesterol Count, Heart Rate and Cardiovascular Fitness then it is to your weight. Unless you are obese, you can be very heathly and beautiful and not be model thin. Matter of fact, most of those models that are supposed to be the ideal of beauty - are shallow, drug riddled people with issues (Naomi Cambell, Kate Moss anyone). That is not sexy.
So, do not focus on weight if you want to look good. Focus on your fitness, and health. People are attracted to other people who are healthy, and will provide them with healthy kids. What do those models have after they are too old to model - nothing but unhealthy body issues, and social problems (i.e. Janice Dickinson - the original "Super Model").

Your ideal body weight is actually about 125#, and a healthy range is 10% +/- that (113 - 137). 105 - 110 is probably much too low, but 157 is a little too high. I would try focusing on losing about 5-10 pounds at a time. A healthy amount of weight to lose is about 1 pound/week if you are exercising and eating right. Losing more than that quickly can be hard for your body and makes it more likely that you will gain that weight back. You just have to be patient and diligent.

You are right that the foods you are currently eating aren't that great. Cheese is a great source of calcium and other vitamins & minerals however it is high in fat/saturated fat so you just need to eat it in moderation. There really isn't anything good about fast foods so I don't feel bad just telling you to stop eating that. Soda is very high in sugar, if you must drink it occasionally you should try diet. Treats, depending on what they are, aren't bad in moderation as well. Keep in mind that there are much healthier versions of most 'treats' and most meals that are typically high calorie/high fat. I recommend Cooking Light to a lot of my clients because it offers great tasting recipes that are very healthy most of the time. (www.cookinglight.com)

Good luck.

At your height a BMI calculator says that 110 is underweight, 113 is the absolute lowest you should be and even that is on the lower end unless you have very small bones a little muscle mass. You can afford to lose weight but that amount is pushing it, I suggest going 130 and seeing how your body sits at that weight. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you really wanna get an ideal weight for yourself you should calculate your body fat percentage and also speak to a docor. Ttwo people can be the same exact height and weight while one may be quite fat and the other very built with muscle. A size two may not be appropriate for you, again I don't know the size of your hip bones or where most of your fat sits ect so it's really difficult to judge what size pants you should have. Regardless of your weight goal make sure you eat a healthy diet and proper portions (not too much and not too little).

According to the Army, your weight range for your height is 104 - 142.

If you know you are eating wrong, then stop that asap. Even if it's not a weight issue, it could prove to be a health issue later in life. Eat a healthy, balanced diet...drink lots of water...and use "junk food" as an occasional treat if you miss it too much.

Start exercising somewhat...take walks or bicycle...do something active and make that part of your lifestyle from here on out as well...it'll benefit you greatly as an adult.

Good luck!

105-110 lbs would be under-weight for someone your height. Maybe 120-130 lbs. You know you have a problem with what you eat, only you can correct it. Being under-weight can also cause problems. And you don't want to lose weight too fast...

Yes, I think the "ideal" body weight is totally unrealistic.
For my height of 5'8" I should "ideally" weigh between 125 and 164. A couple of years ago I got down to 130 and people thought I was ill. I looked emaciated. At 150 I think I look right for my height and anyway who freakin cares if you are carrying a few extra pounds. I would rather be a little heavier than be starving myself to pander to someone else's ideal.

I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs. People tell me I'm thin. Under 120 lbs and I'm too skinny. I would think 115-120 would be a better goal. Or better yet, how about go for a certain waist size. If you gain muscle mass, you might find it harder to get to a certain weight, since muscle weighs more. Maybe go for a size 4, and you'll know you've met your goal when you go shopping for all those new clothes. Or measure for inches, since that is consistent.

I'm 17, 5'4 110 lbs, ur 5'5, i would recommend 112 - 115 that is a perfect weight.

But remember, 75% of your body weight is from your bones, a girl i know she is my height, flat as a board and muscular, tinie tiny, and she weights more than me, but she is skinnier, its because she has heavy bones.

The number doesnt matter, its your equillibrium that counts.

i to am 5'5" and weigh about the same... the ideal weight for us with small bones is 111-133. When i was 120 everybody said i was too skinny (including my husband),but i was content with how i looked and what i weighed... i wasn't fat, i wasn't too skinny, and i had just a lil meat on my bones. The Doctor didn't seem concerned about my weight then but they are now. cause this weight is over weight... i'm not fat just thick. My problem is i'm so pushed for time with four kids, my husband, and trying to keep up with the house and soon i'll be going to college full-time i'm not sure where to fit proper eating and excersize in at.

You didn't mention age which is figured into the calculation. I used 20 years old. You should target 130 lbs. as your ideal weight. 105-110 lbs. is Nicole Ritchie time.
