Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Cut out or reduce your amount of carbs intake eg: potatoes, bread, sugar, pasta, rice, pastries etc. Increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and eat more fresh fish and white meats instead of red meats. Keep off the booze, fizzy drinks and takeaways and drink more water. If you really cant go all week without the booze a small glass of wine wont hurt in moderation.
To loose the weight steadily and to keep it off you should eat three regular meals a day and increase the amount of exercise you do. Good luck!

My wife has recently bought the book 'French Women Don't Get Fat'. What is proposed seems a pretty sensible strategy and has worked for her. Follow it along with some moderate exercise and the weight will reduce quickly.

You can try Phentermine. It's a great appetite suppressant. It gives energy and prevents you from overdoing it on the snacks. You can ask your doctor about them, or you can try ordering them online. You should loose inches within 2 wks, and a few pounds by a month. Also, you should watch what you eat, and exercise.

In order to lose weight you must burn more calories in a day than you consume. The difference between the calories consumed and the calories burned is your weight loss, weight gain or weight maintenance for the day. This is called your caloric tipping point. You want to be in minus total calories for the day. And then for the next day and the next day...

If your going to walk every day or everyother day, walk for
atleast 45 min and take a fish oil pill approx 1 hour before.
I read that in a magazine and tried it, in addition to walking
and doing mass amounts of sit ups...It worked for me.
