i find that the straightening does not last like they adverise. i've tried using straightening serums to help, but it still get gets frizzy and eventually loses the straightening. has this happened to anyone else?
my hair is very curly and hard to straighten. it looks good when i'm finished staightening it, but it doesn't last at all.

i've heard that the chi straightening iron is good. any advise on that?

Maxiglide is a great straightner if used with the products that comes with it. Which is their hair serum and the hair gloss. Without it, ur basically screwed. I have the same problem. Using my maxiglide alone without the product I didn't get the best results. Although my hair was straight it did not last and became kinda poufy looking. To my dismay I came to a realization that the plates were not ceramic but it was ceramic coating. The blue coating on the plates started to chip away exposing the hot metal. I was really pissed off having to find out the plate wasn't even a true ceramic! I'm seriously thinking about investing in another straightner and u should too!!

Use the iron and you'll start going bald in a month's time. Worst thing to straighten hair. Just keep it curly, it's much better than losing it all together.

maxi glide sucks not very light, doesn't last very long.
the chi is way better but very expensive
